In reply to the comment asking why Prepper Princess returned to California. There are many theories:
    1) To be closer to her brother and his family. 2) To be closer to her friends, such as Coffee With Kate, Kate Singh. 3) Her Boxer dog Rocky could not withstand the Arizona desert heat. 4) The small Arizona town that she lived in had mostly older people and low-income people, few good employment or social opportunities. 5) Too many "Fans" found out where Prepper Princess lived and she became uncomfortable with strangers approaching her. 6) As far as emergency survival, her small home on a small lot in a low-income neighborhood in the dry desert of Arizona was not a good place in an emergency or disaster. 7) Due to erratic stock market, possibility of weakening U.S. Dollar, Govt. Bail-In on people's savings, she got her money out to invest in real estate.

Mrs Moth missed my point. The point being I was not criticizing the people who shop there, but rather the You tube bunch that fetishize these stores. And yes, you can get name brand tissues, wipes, paper towels for less. I don advocate buying food from those places and do they only prey on the poor. No, they are in middle and upper middle income neighborhoods, also. Most of their items are junk. Trader Joe’s is a German company that sells off-brand as you put it “foreign garbage” why are they not being scrutinized. Is it because they set up shop in upper middle income neighborhoods, so it’s okay. Or maybe their appeal is to greedy people who max out their IRAs causing economic destruction across the globe. Capitalism is capitalism no matter what form it comes in.

I am assuming Preppy moved to California because her ultimate goal is to buy, renovate, and rent or sell multiple homes. Some of them she wants to bequeath to nieces and nephews.

Plus, Bullhead, AZ is an awful place.

As for dollar-ish stores, Trader Joe's, Aldi the proof is in the quality of the off-brand items.

Trader Joe's has a huge cult following. High quality in my opinion.
Aldi is the same. Huge cult following. Largely high-quality offerings. Their non-food merchandise is mostly sketchy though, based on my personal buying experience. I mostly avoid the "Aldi finds" aisle. I am going to Aldi today for groceries because inflation has finally reached my home. It didn't for a while, but it seems like everything at Kroger is $8.

Interesting those that recoil at the thought of shopping at deep discount stores. I used to shop at dollar stores much like these YouTubers. I could drop $30 bucks on ... nothing. I used to do the same at Target except it was hundreds of dollars. And in recent years it's been Amazon. Thousands of dollars on ... stuff. Much of it was unnecessary. I reviewed all my Amazon purchases in recent years and lots of stuff is just so dumb. What was I thinking?

The key is to stop shopping as a hobby.

I don't like shopping at Wal-Mart, Food 4 Less, dollar stores, because the clientele there can be creepy and the stores are mostly dirty, loud and, again, the stuff is junk. I don't like Costco either. Honestly, I've gotten uppity in my older age. I've also gotten more nervous. I don't know why but nowadays I take my dh with me like Money Mom does. I don't like shopping alone, never have, but if we're going to get mowed down in a hail of gunfire, we're going down together, damn it.

I have been in Aldi’s, Trader Joe’s, and Lidel, they are all off shoots of the Trader Joe company. All German run companies or European with ties to each other. I don’t think Trader Joe’s quality, Lidel or Aldi for that matter is any good. Comparing it to stop and shop, Shop Right, they don’t stand a chance. All off brands. Let Trader Joe’s sell its brands to the upper middle class self- righteous crowd, I will either go to Whole Foods or Stop and Shop before I give my money to questionable off brands. Whether in a dollar store or preppy Trader Joe’s.

Anyway regarding this washing machine that Jan from NYC invested in..
I went to her channel cause it seemed interesting.
But I ended up listening to some spiel she was giving while showing her feet pedalling on some below desk push bike thing.
Never saw the actual washing machine.
But she's also on the churn out a video a day treadmill...

Under the median seem to do 1 or 2 videos a week. It's the quality that makes all the difference.
Oh yay I found the video about the portable washing machine...

Anyway the thing I got in mm's favour is that she is snark worthy while Jan from NYC is snooseworthy.
The snooziness of her content makes it unsnarkable when you hit snooze.

Remember how MM said that she was going to take the odd day off from posting a video? I can't remember her ever taking one day off, although she does video in advance.

There's no Stop n Shop on the west coast. Trader Joe's started out here in California so I am one of those preppy uppity broads. Jk. Ya'll. We all have our opinions and preferences.

I bet you creepy Jan has a mental disorder. I bet she's fun to live with. I can easily imagine her screaming at her family members.

Today's video is odd, she seems on the verge of crying and defensive over explaining.
Plus I don't buy it that she always planned to move back to California. she was done with California when she moved to Arizona.

    Jan from NYC saves money

    Is a retired School Teacher

She and Rhonda Stone seem to have cornered the market on these types of channels

Damn sorry I just realised I was commenting on the wrong thread there talking about Jan from NYC.
Anyway that washing machine of hers it turns out it did not come with a lint filter and she read the manual that was pretty badly written. Hopefully she figures it out. That sort of thing is a gamble some unknown brand as well.

I listened to pp today while I was on the exercise bike and she reckons if you go all scorched earth for 3 years or so it can set you up for life so you can buy a house with cash...
She reckons she happened to have 20k worth of gold to sell and she put away 30k from her job or whatever. And she happened to have some sun generator machines she didn't need. And also she cleverly took advantage of everybody being at home during lockdown and watching youtube meaning she got more youtube revenue...

So her house in California was like 140k or something..

Oh and she happened to have some guns that she didn't need so she sold those too.

Oh yes and of course she sold her 2014 Corolla cause her 1999 Camry was quite alright(which I think was a pretty smart move)

This I can do it so you can do it thing is kinda whateverish.

I think sacrifice is a good idea up to a point, but you do get sick of it. I been showing up to work every Sunday to fund my expensive renovations and such, but you really got to live. I always think of this intense hardcore type of scrooging is kinda making up for some other shit that went down or for lost time or something.
The whole idea here is you gotta neglect the present to fund the future.

And when the future comes your still scrounging even though your house is paid for.

I didn't feel like watching it because I didn't wanna listen to her toot her horn again. If she's on the verge of tears, though, that sounds interesting. ...

skimmed through it. She's repeating herself in these recent videos. We get it. She's so awesome. She also makes sweeping judgments about segments of society and elevates herself above all those "lazy people out there who don't want to work."

    Yawn, girl.

I found Prepper Princess's new California house that she bought in the Fall of 2022 on a Real Estate website, it showed when and how much it sold for, it was $190K-$200K.

Prepper Princess's detailed personal financial break-down that she gave two years ago, was that her share of her old California house sale was $250K, she said she had an additional $140K of her own, therefore $400K was going to her Dave Ramsey approved financial advisor to invest. Her 2020-ish Arizona home purchase was only $65K-$70K.

The U.S. Government eagerly wants to switch to the Digital Dollar, no paper money allowed, making cash dollars no longer accepted, worthless. Whole bunch of things will happen, including a Government Bail-In where 5%-15% of people's money (it's all Digital Dollars) is taken to fund the Government. Meanwhile Russia, China, Middle East, South America want a World Currency based-on/tied to minerals, NOT THE U.S. DOLLAR. The U.S. Dollar, soon to be a Digital Dollar will soon be worth much less. Think about it, would Chinese, Iranians, Iraqis, Russians, Venezuelans, etc want a Digital Dollar that could be frozen or seized at any time, in a second? I don't.

Prepper Princess was smart to take half of her $400K investment and put it into a house. From the looks of this new house in California, it wasn't a steal or a bargain, or a great location, it was worth about $190K so I believe Prepper Princess bought it in a hurry to get her money into a house.

If she fixes it up herself over a year, and then sells it for $250K, minus materials, she earned herself $40K that year. She's not wanting to work a job or be around people
