    Lololol!

Darlene said they don't eat a lot of potatoes and they don't eat a lot of bread. Um, ok. We've seen the grocery haul videos proving otherwise. Also, why buy a bread machine and talk about making it a hobby when you and your family don't eat much bread?

No way Darlene bought only one box of those ice cream sandwiches when they were on sale for such a low price. That's when she likes to stock up.

The lifestyle change is over before it started. Dar's showing the same groceries as always. More chips, more ice cream, more muffins. Hardly any produce. What a joke.

Darlene started the haul saying, "I'm doing a complete lifestyle change."

With Doritos? Big cookies? Candy bars? BBQ ribs and cheesy potatoes? Sausage galore? Bacon? Aussie Bites that she thinks are healthy? 56 servings of salty, dried hash brown potatoes (it's 7 servings per container)? Strange looking, processed chicken burgers? No vegetables. One container of grapes.

Who thinks Andrew picked out extreme dill pickle Doritos? When have we seen him eat pickles? Who's the pickle lover? Darlene. Why do they need Doritos? Didn't she just buy 36 bags of chips? They're all gone already? Dar spoke of having a chips and soda night once a week, but I guess that turned into every night.

At the end of the haul, Dar suddenly busted out a Kevin's entree and a bag of cheese sticks. She buys these at Costco, didn't show them on the counter with the rest of the haul, but then produced them out of nowhere. So, yes, one wonders what other food she's hiding.

Who believes Darlene freezes any portion of a 12 pack of cookies? If Andrew picked them out, wouldn't he look for his cookies every day? So he picks out chips and cookies but Dar and Steve eat their share. Funny, they get to eat everything, but Andrew's allowed only portions of certain items - and not because of "food sensory issues." Who cares what Andrew picked out when the entire family eats it?

Maybe it's the missing Costco shop?

I think so. When Darlene mentioned the Costco trip, I'm pretty sure she said she'd eventually share it. I haven't been able to sleep since!

She might as well just burn it down now as she's totally screwed herself out of the algorithm.

Nah, she's happy with her six fans who lavish her with praise for boiling pasta.

Interesting, Hannah1984. The reduction in views via video deletion should be visible tomorrow on Socialblade. I can't tell every video that's gone missing, but I know Dar had initially left up her high view freezer cooking videos from years ago, and now they're gone. That was a few videos, not a dozen plus.

Here are the last 30 days of Dar's channel:

I never understood Darlene and her polyester blouses. Some styles might look cute, but that fabric just makes my underarms feel clammy even in January, and she wore them in the dead of summer, claiming they were light and cool. I think she just wore them as an on-camera costume and to go from her air conditioned car to air conditioned stores to run errands.

Hey, pantyhose are lightweight and yet sweaty as anything. Showing my age - no one wears pantyhose anymore.

LOL, that time Darlene filmed herself mowing the lawn and clipping shrubs in a polyester blouse and jean capris!

As for PW, Dar LOVES her cooking <and only the cooking> because it's mostly casseroles and it all contains an obscene amount of calories/fat/junk. Plus she relies on a lot of convience foods like biscuits in a can. Lol

PW is just a newer version of Paula "Miss Start with a Stick of Butter" Deen.

I thought Darlene showed viewers a pair of size 24 jeggings last year, after her miniscule VEDA weight loss but before her winter weight gain? If she gained so much weight, she must actually be a size 26 but in denial.

I'm sure it's a kick in the gut, but this is the woman who ate cake for breakfast - among a myriad of other treats - all fall and winter and said, "It works for me. Do what works for you." How much sympathy can you have for her? Anyone could have told her it wouldn't work - and she would have blocked them. Now the cake has come home to roost on her Great Plains behind, and viewers are supposed to understand and offer support??

Hey, is Darlene going to wear that t-shirt dress as she mows the lawn during the summer? She said the dress is so much cooler than capris on hot days. Mowing the lawn works up a sweat. Surely, she'd wear the cooler, more comfortable outfit, especially for sweat-inducing chores. Did she buy bike shorts? Her thighs will have third degree chafing burns after 20 minutes in that dress.

I still don't understand Darlene's obsession with the Pioneer Woman. The Drummond family was already quite wealthy long before Ree started her cooking blog. Ladd has a net worth of $200 million. Ree's net worth is $50 million. Darlene seems to think she's a fan of a folksy, small-time, mom-and-pop, salt of the earth, farm and mercantile. LOL, I remember that time a few years ago when Dar said she buys PW magazines because she "wants to support Ree." Yes, I'm all about buying the overpriced merchandise that helps support the extremely wealthy! Darlene's thrifting for $7 used dresses while buying magazines that cost more and contain recipes she'll never make. Smart! Why donate to a food pantry when you can donate to the Drummonds?

Welcome, Billy Ocean! My tag feature isn't working, for some reason.

LOL at Dar referring to her dress as "a little t-shirt dress." It looks like a sleeping bag. Did she lose 4lbs and now feels waif-like?

I assume few of Dar's clothes fit her. Otherwise, why is she looking for more clothing when she just told us one pair of jeans is already falling down on her (bwahahahaha!)? Sure, Jan. She also said she's been wearing more color, just never on camera!
Why not just wear your supposedly too big clothing around the house? And what happened to the two dresses she mentioned she wore last summer? She spoke of them as if they no longer exist. She had two dresses she seemed to enjoy and threw them away after one season? She wants to buy new clothes every season.

Why doesn't Darlene shop at other stores that offer plus- size clothing? Why only Maurice's? Is it a money issue? Does Maurice's do vanity sizing??

I'm of a differing opinion about the state of their marriage. I don't think they're separated or getting divorced. The simple fact they're both too cowardly to do anything. Dar's too lazy to take on Andrew even at 50% of the time. Stevie has never had much to do with him so I doubt he'd want to up his custody to 50%, let alone 100% if the family court finds that Dar is an unfit mother.

They're also broke. They're both too lazy to start over. If either one of them showed any kind of motivation in any facet of their lives, I'd buy it. But it just goes against the grain of their characters to make a meaningful change.

While I do feel something is up, I just can't get on the separation/divorce train. I don't believe Darlene's video description of her being happily married for 25 years, but I also don't see her and Steve summoning the energy to divorce.

I also lean towards them not having much money. Darlene is not one to be budget conscious, so if they actually had money, she'd be making grander purchases. For years, she gladly spent piles of money on planners and stickers, even pricey stickers from Etsy shops. She might still be doing so but just not showing it anymore. She happily bought new clothes from Maurice's when they had her size and she liked the available styles. She wastes gas driving to/from Costco to buy hundreds of dollars worth of convenience foods. She buys Hello Fresh and always mentions how she knows it's not for everyone's budget - same with buying the thinner, more expensive chicken breasts. She buys new couch pillows and throws every month. She gets her hair and nails done. She likes to spend money when she has a few bucks burning a hole in her pocket.

I think if Darlene's thrifting, it's because she has to. Who blows money on Hello Fresh so that they're forced to hope they can find the clothes they want at a thrift store? At Value Village, she had hoped to find more for herself and Steve, but she couldn't find what she wanted, at least not in their sizes.

I think Dar has a few extra dollars and she blows them on the smaller purchases that are within her grasp so she can feel she's keeping up with the Joneses - Starbucks, convenience food, Walmart fleece throws, a $20 pack of two pillows at Winners, junky tiered tray decor that must be a thing in the housewife YTer world. She doesn't have the money for larger purchases - the things she would really like to have but can't - like a new wardrobe every season, quality furniture, non-disposable decor. It took her 15 years just to get her main floor painted. Her upstairs carpet is disgusting. Sometimes, she pretends she's not interested or is above buying these things. Other times, we know she'd love something expensive that's out of her reach - like a kitchen renovation. These are people who couldn't even get their main floor fully painted and their backyard deck reno looked to be the cheapest option available.

So, yeah, I think the few bucks they have they blow on nonsense. If they have a project in mind, it takes them many years to save up even for the lowest end option. They don't have meaningful savings or else Darlene would have had her kitchen renovated by now - she tried to talk Steve into it a couple of years ago. And why would she even bother with one now since she just said she doesn't want to be Suzy Homemaker anymore and she doesn't have time to cook (lol)?

It had been noted here that there were no zucchini, mushrooms or ice pops that Andrew likes to eat, in her many fridge tours. We'll, until she made a point of showing she bought ice pops last week. That would fit with Andrew not actually being there (aka living with Steve).

Wild speculation on my part, but maybe Darlene and Steve are still together, but they found a place for Andrew to spend some nights? Maybe a support worker takes him? Because, yeah, where is Andrew's food? What does he eat for breakfast and dinner? No peanut butter toast? No cereal? No Rao's pasta sauce? RISE provides lunch and snacks M-F, but where are his weekend lunches and snacks? Does Dar give him pizza all day on Saturday and Sunday? Where is the zucchini we used to see all of the time? Now, we don't see any in hauls or in fridge tours. We don't see as many grapes nor see them as frequently.

    QUOTE (Crusty Pie @ 1/5/2024, 00:59)
When she is looking at the baskets she says she would like one with handles to carry stuff up and down the stairs. I can just picture Darlene lumbering up the stairs with her little Red Riding Hood basket :XD:

    :hearty-laugh:

I'm imagining Darlene filling her dainty basket with chips and soda so she can enjoy downtime on Sarah's old bed.

Darlene couldn't possibly use one of her five laundry baskets to carry items upstairs? She wants a cutesy basket for that. We certainly wouldn't want her having to climb a flight of stairs more than once, so she needs a one trip basket.

Ohhh, swingers! Well, the pineapple is a symbol of hospitality, LOL. I usually think of pampas grass as the swinger Bat Signal. But I suppose you can't wear pampas grass around town!

OMG!! DARLENE!! PLEASE buy Stupid the pink stripped shirt with the pink pineapples on it!!

    :snickering:

And have his masculinity called into question? Pink?! Never!

I'm surprised Darlene didn't have more condescending mentions of "I would never wear this" or "It's not anything I would ever wear." Whatever happened to the pixie pants and red ballet flats she wanted to wear a year ago? Why didn't she ever wear her Christmas red plaid blazer on camera - you know, show us clowns with no fashion sense how to be stylish? 🤡 🤡 🤡

Thanks, Chortle2! Your passionate rants about Darlene crack me up!

Just as we thought, Darlene is too busy to get dinner on the table because she's out shopping every day. She implied she visits Value Village frequently - "Some days I find nothing, and other days I'll hit the jackpot and find four Ravensburger puzzles." I bet she goes weekly, terrified someone else will get to a newly stocked Ravensburger before she does.

Like I've said, I guarantee Darlene's "I'm not a SAHM anymore, I'm rarely at home because I'm out and about town, being social" narrative is just a cover for "I go out shopping every day." I'm sure she's still at home many hours every day.

Darlene doesn't thrift shop for Andrew's clothing anymore?

Why would Dar buy a shirt for Steve if they're separated? Was that just for show?

Why is Darlene checking the price on size 17/18 junior capris? If she ever loses weight to fit into that size, the price will be double by then.

I'm a little annoyed that the woman who likes to flex her ability to blow any amount of money hoarding food is at the thrift store taking puzzles and clothing away from the people who can't afford to buy new items. Pick a lane, Darlene. Either you have extra money to spend or you don't.

This is just a boring, filler content video. Don't we all know what thrift shops sell? Besides, Darlene has taken viewers to VV several times before. It's all of the same merchandise. If she can't show that there are amazing finds to be had, why bother?

Very interesting! Thank you for the intel SophiaPetrillo

I’m off of work for the rest of the week so I can take care of my Girlfriend. We did something stupid over the weekend and she ended up getting hurt. Maybe I will post more!

    Here is my Girlfriend

Aww, such a cutie! I hope she's comfortable and on the road to a quick recovery.

SophiaPetrillo, thanks for sharing. I don't know why I'm still incredulous regarding Darlene's behavior.

I don't see these two separating amicably. I don't see how Dar would still be fixing meals, even if occasionally, for Steve, no matter how much she wants his paycheck. Besides, they've been married for 25 years. She's entitled to half of everything without making any gestures that are designed not to antagonize him. That part I don't understand. What could she possibly do to win him over when he works full-time and now he's responsible for a good chunk of Andrew's care, while she pretends to be busy out shopping for fresh produce?

Something's definitely up, but I don't see how even perpetual liar Darlene could restrain herself from taking jabs at Steve.
