Call me dumb, but I believe she probably did run out of her regular stuff and just slapped old Retin-A on without thinking how much harsher it is. Even a pea sized amount tears my skin up and I’m not sensitive to anything but that.

Of course Lisa probably didn’t use a pea sized amount and went ham with it all over her face. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Walking around the upstairs of the house and doing light housework is all that I can manage now sadly.
I would love nothing more than to take Madam out shopping or have a family day out but my body won't let me.
There are days when my head is just too heavy for my neck and I have to lie down.
If I am up and about and do too much the back of my skull feels like it is in a vice and I pour sweat.
If I just stand for too long my lower back screams and I have to sit down.
Believe me I have tried light weights etc and I just can't cope with the pain and then the following day it is tripled.
I was VERY active and slowly but surely fibro has stolen my life from me.

As no one reacted to this I get the feeling that people think I am just choosing to live like this I am not.
This is what I deal with daily https://mymembership.mynameisfibromyalgia.com/symptoms/
It is not just a bit of pain on a friday night that comes at a certain time and goes after a tramadol (which I don't have)
Fibromyalgia ruins lives and it has ruined mine.

I’m sorry I didn’t respond. I know fibromyalgia ruins lives. My aunt has it and when we visited, she could never go with us to Washington DC to see the sights because of the pain. Just a walk around the mall would hurt her. She also suffers from a lot of other problems that don’t seem related to fibro, but I wouldn’t be surprised if somehow everything was connected.

I also had a friend with it who couldn’t work. She tried so many medications to no avail. Illnesses like fibro and myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue are awful. My high school friend has ME and she is completely housebound and has suffered since she was a teenager.

So I believe you, Jools. Big hugs to you, my friend. 🥰❤️

I think she’s regressing. Everything is about the cool girl and cool vibe lewk now. You’re not in high school, Lisa! 🤦🏼‍♀️🤡

I used to think that too when I was young. My mom thought everyone should go daily but I realize they don't. I now know I was not getting enough fluid and mom had biscuits rolls or cornbread daily so that wasn't good for me.

I worked with a girl who said her husband went 3x a day. I was shocked.

But if you go more than 3 days in between and have.been that way for years, I'd investigate. Don't let one doctor say it's normal because it shouldn't be. I know you're used to it but its better to eliminate. Do you not eat very much? Are you thin? I sound like an old mother hen...sorry.

My mom is a 3x a day woman. She eats a massive amount of fiber simply because she genuinely enjoys vegetables and eats a whole bowl of frozen veggies for a snack.

I keep to about 1200-1300 calories a day. My activity level isn’t high and I don’t want to gain weight, so that’s my limit most days. I do not survive on fast food burger patties and shrimp though. My gut would be crying for help on Duncecan’s diet or whatever that abomination is. She has to shop for pleasure because what else does she have? She can’t even have a potato, for Pete’s sake. 🤦🏼‍♀️

ETA: Jools, I’d bet the reason you have slow motility is because of your fibro limiting your activity. I think low activity plays a role with me too.

Salads used to do that to my grandma too. I can eat a bucketful of salad and nothing happens. My gut is like the DMV - it takes forever for anything to happen.

Oh no. Do you eat a lot of bread, cheese or milk products? When I was young, I had the same issue. It wasn't until after my 1st pregnancy that I became regular and I was 30.

It's not healthy for you to be that way. You should try something that you are not doing now.

No, I don't eat a lot of dairy at all, and I eat some bread, but not excessive amounts. I drink plenty of water and have tried fiber capsules, cereals, drinks, you name it. This has been the way my body has worked for almost my entire life except when I worked a series of stressful jobs. Now that got things going, and not in a good way.

Too bad there isn't a Zaxby's near me, ha ha.

Salads run right through me, too but I don’t claim to have IBS. My gut prefers meat to a lot of veg.

News is nothing but misery that will torpedo your mental health. A couple of feel good stories thrown in doesn’t cancel out the steady stream of depressing stories they throw at you.

My mom is an avid news watcher and can never stop talking about all of the horrific weather events, fires and mudslides. I tell her not to watch it because it’s not doing her any favors, but she has to keep up. My dad asks me incredulously if I watch the news because I’m not up to date on everything. He acts like it’s a sin to not be aware. I told him I scan the headlines and that’s all I need. No thanks.

I can see taking a photo of a celebrity in to a store or to a stylist and asking for help putting together a similar look, but an anonymous member of the public? That’s just lunacy. I’m glad the photo wasn’t clear because then the target of paparazzo Lisa would be all over YouTube and Instagram.

Off topic, but have any of you used a personal stylist? My least favorite time of year is coming up and I need help putting together a capsule wardrobe for summer. I just want a few classic, quality pieces that will last me. Most of my stuff is old and I don’t have anyone fashionable who could go to the stores with me and help me out. I like a very classic look which is much easier to do in fall/winter. My style icon is the late Carolyn Bessette and for some reason there aren’t many photos of what she wore in the summer.

Should I go to the mall and people watch? Maybe take some photos of random people for inspo? :snickering:

--anyone catch what a greedy bitch she is when she said Brooke liked the denim bag... what did Lisa say? I told her maybe I will give it to her when I don't want it anymore...if it was my daughter and I already had over 50 bags in my closet, I would have given her the damn bag

Yes! I literally shouted at my screen, “Give her the damn bag!” Thankfully no one was around to hear.

She’s always been like this with Brooke. Years ago B went to the store with John and got a nail polish. Lisa had to go out and buy the same shade for herself. I can’t imagine growing up with that woman as your mother.

Dang, with every video she just gets further out. The funniest thing is she takes the subject of fashion so seriously and seems to think her superficial world is as important as physics. Her face gets this dreamy look as she’s imparting her special brand of wisdom, and as the words tumble out, all we’re left with is meaningless Zaxby’s word salad and ghastly looks like above.

My father in law had a small yacht and the fuel costs alone were close to 100k, for one year and that was in the mid 80's. That man could piss money away, like no other man I ever met!! Meanwhile my MIL served hamburgers and carrot sticks, and premade ice tea, for our rehearsal dinner, in the church basement. Sound familiar? He spent she tried to live on half a shoestring budget.

Ugh, I imagine your MIL never got to buy herself a few luxuries. 😡 Jawn only has his vitamins to splurge on. Everything else must be funneled to the narc.

Why doesn’t Lisa have a yacht by now? Actually, she probably could have had part of one for all that she spends on clothes, makeup, shoes and other crap. 😂

From everything we see, both of those kids have suffered emotional neglect. They had their physical needs met, but Lisa kind of reminds me of how my mom was in her own world and preoccupied with other things when I was growing up. Now my mom isn’t a narc and very far from a materialistic, snobby spendthrift, but she just didn’t know how to connect with a kid. She didn’t know how to play with dolls or draw. My grandma did that with me since I am an only child. It’s left me with some issues. I can only imagine how much worse it was/is for Brooke and Will.

Deeper down the Duggar hole. she really is looking more "church lady" every time I see her.

Dang, I thought that was Tammy in the first photo. Looks like something that haughty dolt would wear. *shudder*

When she said she gave them something to look at in the grocery store, I was like WTH? The only thing she provided was a good story for the folks to tell their family when they got back home. “I saw this woman who resembled an Afghan hound in the meat aisle, smiling like a lunatic and wearing a sequin skirt and stripper shoes!” Actually, that would be a good secondhand story to share with people. 🤔

I can’t for the life of me imagine Lisa sitting with her kids trying to teach them things and giving them the nurturing they needed. If Brooke wound up with borderline or any of the personality disorders, the culprit is her childhood and likely emotional neglect.
