There was a hearing in the Bryan Kohberger case, the state wanted the 4th and 5th motion to compel discovery closed to the public. The defense objected to that request and presented why they wanted the hearing open to the public. The judge ruled that the next hearing will be closed to the public. I heard that during the hearing today that the defense still doesn't have the CAST report for some reason and that the defense doesn't have the whole video surveillance of the white car in Moscow that drove around the house, they just have a small portion of it and there is no audio. Mmm... where is the audio. This is so wild imo.

Bryan Kohberger's Defense Receives Huge Boost
Published Apr 18, 2024 at 11:59 AM EDT

Bryan Kohberger's defense team has secured a cell phone data expert who will allegedly show that Kohberger was nowhere near the house in Moscow, Idaho where four college students were killed on the night in question.

Kohberger, 29, has been charged with four counts of first-degree murder and one count of felony burglary in connection with the fatal stabbings of Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Madison Mogen, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Ethan Chapin, 20. The four University of Idaho students were found dead in an off-campus home on November 13, 2022.

Kohberger was hiking or star gazing that night, his lawyers have now claimed in court.

A defense affidavit filed in court on Wednesday states that Kohberger told his lawyers he "was out driving in the early morning hours of November 13, 2022; as he often did to hike and run and/or see the moon and stars. He drove throughout the area south of Pullman, Washington, west of Moscow, Idaho including Wawawai Park."

Cell phone data expert Sy Ray will testify about Kohberger's cell tower data on the night of the murders, according to the affidavit.

Ray will testify that "Bryan Kohberger's mobile device was south of Pullman, Washington and west of Moscow, Idaho on November 13, 2022; that Bryan Kohberger's mobile device did not travel east on the Moscow-Pullman Highway in the early morning hours of November 13th, and thus could not be the vehicle captured on video along the Moscow-Pullman highway near Floyd's Cannabis shop."

Police obtained footage of a white Hyundai car, similar to Kohberger's, traveling on the Moscow-Pullman road after the killings.

Kohberger was studying and living in Pullman, Washington, at the time.

Ray is a well-respected cell phone data expert who has been used as a prosecution witness in several high-profile cases, in which he was able to show that a suspect's mobile phone was near the scene of a murder.

The former police detective will give defense evidence for the first time at Kohberger's trial.

Under Idaho law, lawyers for an accused must disclose alibi evidence to the court if they intend to use it at trial. That gives time for prosecutors to rebut the evidence if possible.

On Wednesday, Kohberger's defense team, led by attorney Anne Taylor, filed a document in court responding to the state's demand for an alibi.

The affidavit states that prosecutors must disclose more phone data evidence and if they don't, Ray will present evidence to show that vital evidence has been withheld or lost.

"If not disclosed, [Ray]'s testimony will also reveal that critical exculpatory evidence, further corroborating Mr. Kohberger's alibi, was either not preserved or has been withheld," the affidavit says.

The affidavit states that on the day of the murders, Kohberger's cell pinged near his off-campus Washington State University apartment at 630 Northeast Valley Road at 2:42 a.m.

At 2:44 a.m., Kohberger was seen on surveillance footage from Washington State University "traveling north on southeast Nevada Street at northeast Stadium Way."

I don't know what dry drowning is. I need to Google. LOL! I also need to see if they've stated a cause of death.

Could he have broken his neck on the way down? Would that explain no water in the lungs? Like if he was dead before he hit the water?

In a report from the Cleveland Clinic, emergency medicine doctor Jason Milk explained the concept known as “dry drowning.”

When someone is struggling underwater and unable to come up for air, they experience a reflex called a laryngeal spasm. This spasm shuts off the airway, and the person is unable to breathe, but it also prevents water from entering the lungs.

When this airway closure happens and no water goes into the lungs, that’s technically “dry drowning,” although the name is not an official medical term.

“The injury happens from a lack of air and asphyxiation,” Milk told the Cleveland Clinic.

In a report from UnityPoint Health, pediatric emergency medicine doctor Amy Groen said that between 10-20% of autopsies of drowning victims show little to no water in the lungs.

“The reason for this is because of laryngospasm, which is when the body forcefully closes the airways,” Groen said in the report.

The main problem during a drowning like this is a lack of oxygen to the brain, not because of water in the lungs.

According to PEOPLE, a Metropolitan Nashville Police Department spokesperson said on Thursday that Strain’s death “continues to appear accidental.”

I heard that all of the frat brothers that was with him at the bar all have lawyers now which I can understand

I do think there are parts of this story we don't yet know.

Like HOW he became SO wasted so quickly. I am also thinking the bar bears some responsibility. I hate it because I think adults should be adults but there are exceptions (like getting roofied). Sending someone out into the streets who is wasted seems dumb. I don't even understand why he was kicked out. They claim he had one drink and two waters. What was he doing to get kicked out?

From Brian Entin on NewsNation - Brian Entin interviewed a family friend and Riley was found with no pants, no boots and no wallet for some reason.

"Also – developments in the Riley Strain investigation. His family had a second autopsy done and they are concerned."

Apparently Puff Daddy fled the country when the feds came after him and now he's hiding in Antigua. WTF?

there are some reports that he was seen in Miami but I don't know how true that was. But I heard that he wasn't in Antigua.

He wasn't by himself though. He was supposed to wait for his friend to pay and come back and he didn't wait. He walked away. There was a bunch of people outside on the sidewalk and he was supposed to stand there and wait for his friend to come back but he didn't wait. Someone said that he was yelling let's go Brandon and that's why he got kicked out but I don't know if that's true.

I don't know why they would fake anything about the princess either but they did put out doctored photos and a video of someone that wasn't her trying to tell everybody it was her. It's all just hella weird. There was a doctor on CNN that said her whole story doesn't make sense medically. Idk I just don't trust anybody anymore lol

and the other thing is that there are two different compares with Tempo in the name of their business. There is a Tempo software company near the bridge where he was seen walking and there is Tempo Hilton Hotel and some people have the theory that he was following the directions to the Tempo Software company that is near the bridge vs the Tempo Hilton Hotel that he was staying in.

It's weird how clean his bank card was at the time that it was found imo. I don't like that. I can't wait for the toxically report to come back.

I also heard that LE are looking for some people in the area that night the he went missing that LE want to speak with to see what they saw. I'm guessing the other surveillance video that hasn't been released to the public but was shared with the family, shows some other people in the area during or around that time.

I heard that he was kicked out because of violating a code of conduct and after he was kicked out he went across the street to another bar and tried to get in there and was denied entry.

I heard that Bryan's place doesn't have a tab, it's a pay by the drink situation. I heard that Riley was trying to pay for woman's drink but she didn't have tab. It's so much going on with this story. I also heard that this group had jello shots with them. I've also heard that people said that Bryan's Place was rumored to had situations were people had been drugged there in the past too. I heard that he told his frat brothers that he was going back to the hotel. Tempo By Hilton Nashville Downtown but I'm getting that was after he was denied entry into the bar that was across the street.

Riley was on a trip for spring formal with his entire fraternity. It was like 200 people. His friends were with him. He got kicked out of the bar. His friend tried to walk out with him but the bouncer wouldn't let his friend leave until he paid his tab so the friend left Riley at the door and went to pay his tab assuming Riley would wait for him outside and when he got back he was nowhere to be found. His friend assumed he left and went back to the hotel I believe either that or back in the bar.

I heard that all of the frat brothers that was with him at the bar all have lawyers now which I can understand

The Hazelnut Cookie Cold Brew is crazy sweet but I enjoyed it.

I typed too fast the other day, I like the old version of the Hazelnut syrup better, it's was a bolder flavor imo and it wasn't as sweet as it is now.

I've tried the Lavender powder in a grande hot white mocha with three scoops of lavender powder and it was pretty good. I was surprised that I liked it, last week. And today I got a cold brew with lavender cold foam with 4 pumps of vanilla syrup. I was surprised that the Lavender cold foam went well with the cold brew. So that's good.
