OH wow. Also in SA, have been able to help my community DURING this snow storm, what a thought. Sharing wood with neighbours, ideas, milk, etc. If you have access to the internet (which she obviously does) she has access to HELP! We are doing ok, the scheduling of electricity was whack at first, 5 mins every hour, etc. For the last two days it's been about 6 hours off, 6 hours on except we don't know what hours. We don't have any water but plenty of firewood to make a fire & we have all been sleeping in the living room together around it. School has been cancelled for the rest of the week. We just aren't built for this so that's what makes it scary, lots of neighbours have busted pipes & a ton more worries than us. My kid is actually loving it, hanging out with us, playing games, feeling like we are camping at home. It's been quite the adventure & our neighbourhood has been amazing, everyone sharing wood, water, ideas, etc. We will all be fine, thanks for your concern, I worry about the older people & animals as well!
We have gas so we have been able to boil snow for toilets, make soup & grilled cheese, etc. We still don't have water but the power outages have stopped FOR NOW! yay!!
The new video is odd listening to her talk, no over pronounced words, sounds like she has a fat tongue even? -

What I've read and know it pretty standard with homeowners insurance/renters insurance that in the case of lost food it caps out at
$ 250.00, I require my renters to carry insurance and that's what they told me , I checked my policy its the same. If these 2 spent thousands and have as much in there freezer, the return on it isn't good if all is lost. I hope Flappy is stocked up on her favorite cocktail, and Lemon has a heat source for that snake, the chinchilla can't get to cold.
I always worry about the kids, older people and animals.
