Starbucks double shot over ice in a venti cup and then I dump an Orgain Vanilla clean protein shake in. At home, original nespresso with Fairlife milk. I was doing silk ultra but got tired of it recently.

Travel vlogs. So my channel’s been pretty quiet for the past 18 months!

What you mean you didn't buy a sprinter van or rv to travel the US during covid like every single travel vlogger i follow :hearty-laugh:

For the record, we were living in ours parked next to our house for 10 months before the pandemic! (I’m being sarcastic) We had to get rid of 90% of our excess stuff, most furniture, etc. and then do some updates before selling our house! The pandemic caused a lot of issues for us but since we were already in the process of selling it all to travel, we kept going.

I’m not on YouTube but I “share” on Instagram. We live and travel full time in our 42’ fifth wheel, I’m a stay at home Mom of a 2.5 year old and we have a puppy. At one point, I really did want to do YouTube, I wanted to share how I organize our 450 sq ft living space and about our travels. However, my husband hates social media and will not participate and even is irritated with me for sharing what I do. I am trying to use Instagram as a sort of memory book we can look back on eventually when we are building our house and not traveling. I think I’ve shared enough here that the Baker Investigation Agency could figure out who I am but since we move every few days, I don’t care!

Just ignore that muffin shaped drone that seems to be at every campground.

I love my big diesel dually truck, I drive it more than my husband! It has cameras all over to help with tight parking lots and the occasional Starbucks drive through! We’ve basically traversed back and forth through the entire state of Idaho and it’s wonderful! There is a reason that Boise is one of the fastest growing cities right now! We will be near Lake Coeur d'Alene, visiting friends. Very beautiful but also expensive to live here!

Dually trucks are a nice, basically tow anything in comfort. They’re popular in farm country. Your travel updates are great.
    [/QUOTE]

Since we travel full time, it’s our only vehicle now. I definitely can tell when we are in farm country because parking spots are much more accommodating! I even drive it to parks, libraries, kids museums etc, and I often get funny looks from people, not your typical mom-mobile!

I bought an expensive chocolate bar at the truck stop, like Jen. I told Mr. Seemingly Sweet that I thought about hashbrowning it but then split it with him and our daughter. He didn’t find it amusing. I remember it was a Disney vlog but does anyone have a link to the actual Hashbrown incident video? I’d look through them all but I’m feeling lazy like Jen.

We are currently headed out of Montana to Idaho, the speed limit is 80, trucks 70! We are a pretty big rig, about 57’ tip to tail so my husband is going about 65-70, we were just passed by a semi truck and it threw a rock, first chip in our window on our brand new truck :( I cannot believe how fast people drive here! It certainly is the Wild West, we’ve spent a couple months in Montana/Wyoming during the pandemic and they don’t follow any of the precautions now. Certainly feels like the Wild West!

Ugh I’m so homesick for the mountains! I hope you enjoyed your time in the wild west. 🤠
Oh ya! Everyone i knew had a crack in their windshield. I thought it was a normal thing to always have a crack.
I remember regularly going 85 on the highway as a 14/15 year old. 😬😬

That’s terrifying! I’m such a granny driver, I prefer 65 mph and people make fun of me for it!

Dang the rock and chip. People drive so fast in my state, it’s wide open. I’ve progressively gotten a bigger, heavier vehicle over the years, mostly because high speed accidents are horrible, I’m older, and I’m hedging my bets it’ll protect everyone. You’ll have to tell us how you like Idaho (living vicariously through you).

Late to the convo but I grew up in MT and WY. Booze everywhere, Walmart, gas stations, drive thru liquor stores…. It’s the Wild West out there. MT didn’t even have a speed limit in the 90s. Even when I learned to drive it was an unspoken agreement you could go about 10 miles over and not get ticketed.

I can’t remember when she said it, but wasn’t she talking about how you can’t just leave kids in the car while you run into the store these days? Was it on stories when she was blathering on about how inconvenienced she was over covid precautions?

It was definitely mixed into the COVID complaining, it was either about picking up Chinese food or why she can’t go to the paint store I think.

That’s right! In my home state, someone went into a supermarket, left her 4 year old child in the car seat, left the car running because she was just “going in to grab something real quick” and the car was stolen. The thief realized there was a child in the car after driving off, so he turned around and brought the car back, could have been a much worse outcome. It just reminded me of Jen because her story about the Chinese food was around the time I read this news article.

I’m also a child of the 80s and what was considered acceptable parenting back then, isn’t always accepted today. Whenever Jen brings up something like this, I always get the idea that she basically does no research or anything about parenting and instead feels like if her parents did it, it must be ok.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Jen sometimes runs out for quick errand and leaves kids home alone or napping because it’s easier. Not saying she routinely does it, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she has done it. She can’t be inconvenienced.

Yep - Blue Laws. Had to do with religion...not sure why it was called a Blue Law though...growing up the grocery stores that sold other things for example like toys, were roped off so you couldn't purchase them.

The malls were closed and then eventually just opened 12:00 Noon to 6:00 p.m. Obviously some malls and stores are open full blast (again).

Also I live in Texas and we have some funny liquor laws and just recently have been able to buy beer and wine (only) in grocery stores thanks to I think either Sams Club or Costco changing that law somehow.

Still can only buy hard liquor Monday to Saturday at liquor stores - no Sundays.

To be honest, this is not a bad thing if you take the religious context out (or keep it in either). It keeps people home doing things together instead of out shopping. Or just makes people relax. We shop too much in the U.S. lol.

Of course it is definitely inconvenient if you work Monday through Friday and that's your only time to run errands.

I live in upstate NY but bordering NJ and NJ has a Blue Law closing in the adjacent county (Bergen). According to historians the “blue laws” are because Puritans tended to write their laws on blue paper. NJ’s blue laws prohibiting work on Sundays have been on the books since the 1600s.

Utah has weird Sunday rules in a lot of places but that’s a Mormon control thing.

I almost took a promotion to a business located near the temple in Salt Lake. The hiring manager told me that the business was closed on Sundays, no exceptions! This is a large American company that is open 7 days a week, normal hours on Sunday are 11-6ish. I thought it was pretty crazy that they had to abide by the church rules just because they were downtown.

Guys I finally watched Moana yesterday. My son refuses to watch movies of any kind, but it's Hawaii week at his little school summer camp so they had Moana come visit
So we watched it yesterday and it's so good! We didn't get to finish because, IDK, he's 4 and has no attention span but he actually liked it!

My 2.5 year old can only take like 10 min of Moana. But she will watch almost the whole Secret Life of Pets 2! She loves that movie and we haven’t even seen the first one because it’s not free on prime, Disney, Hulu or Netflix 😆 I refuse to pay for movies when we have all those subscriptions.

For popular places, like near National Parks, I book well in advance, minimum 6 months. It really varies quite a bit, the cheapest we’ve paid is $35 a night and the most expensive was over $100 a night. If we stay in one location for like a week or a month, we can usually negotiate a small discount. When we go back “home” I can get a site for $650 a month, but that’s the cheapest we’ve ever found and it’s a nice place. There are definitely cheaper places to stay, but I avoid trailer parks. We have a toddler and a puppy, so it matters to us to be in a nice place with amenities like pools and playgrounds. We also are setup to boondock or dry camp, we have a generator and big tanks. So we will occasionally boondock for a few nights and that’s free.

Your life is about 100% more interesting to me then anything Jen has coughed up in the last six months.

Aw, thanks! It’s definitely been interesting selling a house during a pandemic and then living on the road with a toddler and puppy, husband who works full time writing software… it’s chaos most of the time! Our 1 year traveling anniversary is coming up soon and as I reflect on the past year, I realize that we are sort of crazy but also so glad we jumped into this! We will probably remember this time for the rest of our lives. It can be mundane at times but it’s much more interesting than when we had a house.

We sold our house last August and live in our 42’ fifth wheel now. We travel full time, but part of the reason was to sell the house high and then not be forced into buying right away. We are looking for land to build on but we are in no rush and can just save cash while waiting out this insane real estate bubble. Bonus is we get to see some amazing parts of the country and chase 70 degree weather.

How much does campsites cost per day or week? And do you have to book it well in advance?

This listing shows it was purchased under the builder's name, so I'm not exactly sure if that is a way to conceal the actual buyers or not. The location is a bit S and E of RM 1.0. It's the only sale I've found recently in the area that looks promising and does not list the name of the buyer(s).

I could see Tensleigh in that house. Black and white. Farmhouse-ish.

I’m in love with GoCleanGo. Who would have thought Tide would work so well? I spent yesterday washing walls, baseboards and the floors. It was so satisfying and smelled so good!

I love it too! I’m glad she has such a big following and people are cleaning with bleach again instead of essential oils. I was always surprised Jen didn’t follow her but it goes against her current “earth mama” persona.
