I bet the arrangement has more to do with Jen having a seizure over the idea of the kids being at Don's overnight that one time. So she's made it fit with her needs rather than the children's needs. I think when she's left alone for too long without them she realises she has nobody. At least if the kids come back within a day or so she can pretend there are still people in the world who need her.

Could be to do with Don’s work schedule too?

Idk, I think the Rosses start cursing by their second Tito’s on the rocks.

I'm not watching this crazy. So I have to ask, what is under her sink if its not the garbage can? Usually, trash goes under the sink so you can push off uneaten food before washing.

    Cleaning supplies and rags

+ lots of electronics for the sensor tap, taking up tons of space!

Also lazy susans for spices are not so great, not practical to reach the ones in the middle, although Jen says that less commonly used ones are there.

This makes me sad to see ....

Wedding ring clearly displayed, and looking like a happy family, but 6 months later ...

What is “the outsize area”? The yard?

    The garden at the back.

Sorry been reading too many property descriptions recently (in the uk).

I've sold my flat subject to contract, and my offer has been accepted on another property. Just hoping that it all goes smoothly.

Why will it be nice for the kids to grow up in a large house? I mean, sure, compared to a 1200 square foot home with 1 bath. But otherwise, do kids care? I grew up in a much smaller home with 4 other siblings (2.5 baths!). I don’t think a larger home would have been an improvement. (Also, some of the bedrooms look small.)

hmm, I'm not sure, but it looks like the outsize area could be a good space for them to play in?

The flippers didn't make any layout changes, there was some wiring and HVAC work but mostly it was just a decor overhaul. The house has a lot of smaller rooms that are cut off from each other by that massive central staircase. The house already fills the width of the lot so there's no way to make any of those rooms wider without moving the stairs which is a huge cost. Not something flippers are going to invest in.

They could and should have pulled out the wet bar though. I know some people still like them but that immediately dates a house to the 80s for me. Pulling it out would have made the family room far easier to furnish. I would have ripped out the fireplace as well, but I don't like corner fireplaces. Especially in narrow rooms, way too difficult to create a nice layout around. That's another expensive job though, far easier to just throw that horrible marble/quartz that Jen loves over it.

I don't like the corner fireplace, it doesn't look cosy or relaxing, to be sitting facing a corner like that. Re the neighbourhood, if houses are being renovated it seems to be improving, and is convenient for schools. Will be nice for the children to grow up in a large house, and in ~15 years Jen could downsize.

On the Vegas trip, Jen must've been pooping her brains out the whole time because of her maximum nervous energy. I hope the nail tech went to the clubs without this wet blanket & had a blast!

Question: I’m not versed in MHWF Jen, was this before or after her nail polish obsession? Did the Vegas trip lead to her doing her own nails?

8 years ago... shows her collection of 300 nail polishes.... www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6-PrAd7By0

And all these polishes were just cleared out (thrown away?) last year?

Can anyone see if there’s a video in her que?

I looked and didn’t see one but I’ve been known to miss them. I don’t think a video will be posted today. Seems she’s definitely in the thick of moving.

Maybe we did successfully identify her new place, and she’s now frantically looking for something else?

Are the two photos of the same old boyfriend? To me, they look like two entirely different guys

Think that they look pretty much the same person, in the later ones he's just older with more weight.

Jen was similar to how some people described Kate Middleton - on the hunt for a wealthy husband and never had an independent career plan. Jen saw the condo, the car and the financier salary and immediately put herself out on a plate

Just that Kate pressed out three kids and still shows up smiling publicly and well dressed on the side of her husband, therefore fulfilling the requirements that came with the job...

I’m not a big fan of the royals but Kate also does a lot of her own work for charities that she supports, and seems like a genuinely nice person.

Exactly my thoughts! I am in the area, single mom, working full time and can not afford to spend so much on housing, with all the other expenses (saving for colleges, vacations, etc) no complains, our taxes are crazy. Also pay so much for the house and get a crappy middle school, trust me it’s not good, even if it’s 7/10, for cook county it’s not impressive at all. That’s why this area is considered elderly, large % of population is retired families. Around her Northbrook, Arlington Heights, Deerfield and Buffalo Grove are the ones with good schools and young families. And cheeper houses

I could actually see her moving out of her current area. The only connection to it is the other Rosses. School isn't there, her parents aren't there, etc.

If we're playing guessing games, I'd put good money on that she looked at this one. It screams Jen to me. Potential playrooms galore downstairs, walk in closet in the fourth bedroom for her office, big tub in the master, massive bannister for her twinkle lights. Even the colour scheme is what she was trying to do with her updates. Went into pending sale in March and was just listed as sold a couple weeks ago.

If she's moving to somewhere as beautiful as this, then why has she been so stressed?
I suppose that we could narrow down the purchase date according to when CC mentioned the new house?

I'm surprised that Jen is moving now, but she did start a clearing out phase last spring, guess that we'll never know, but did she know then that this was on the cards? Or just a sad irony.

I don’t think so, she is always decluttering
    Buy
    Declutter
    Repeat

I read the Marie Kondo book for the first time last month, and she has a part dedicated to explaining why people who have lots of stuff on boxes are actually hoarders and not organized.
Jen “Marie Kondos” the way it works for her

Ok fair enough, but she did clear out a lot of stuff at the time, at least she doesn't have to move all the bags now!

Copying people is what Jen does. Glennon is just the latest. She’s currently in a I am Woman Hear Me Roar/You can’t cage me!!!! phase.

Jen has not specifically mentioned any interest or non interest in women.

Oh, but she draws chalk rainbows and sometimes wears Birkenstocks.

    Run with it!

Children are drawing chalk rainbows a lot at the moment in the UK, also putting rainbow signs up in the windows of their houses - a kind of thank you to workers of the National Health Service, and other care workers, and also a sign of hope that the current pandemic will end. Maybe the children learned that from their school? I'm not saying tear up your tickets for the rainbow train/carriage, but the chalk rainbows are not about that.
