Not shocking that Meg didn’t understand (and therefore offered useless commentary on) the critique of tradwife influencers. Homemaking isn’t the issue. Cooking and cleaning and taking care of your home and your family and creating content about it has NEVER been the issue and it’s not why people are dogwalking these tradwife creators. But Meg doesn’t look deep enough to know what the issue really is. Same old same old.

To be fair, I didn’t think Britt’s video was that astute on the topic either but Britt is a topic for another time.

    Oh dear.

Are they possibly not happy with your performance, Justin?

Let´s see. In person, full time, Monday to Friday, has to relocate before starting work. So, like, not you?

"The ideal candidate for the Marketing and Development Coordinator role is a self-motivated individual with strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for real estate. That must hurt just a bit.

I could be crazy and remembering this wrong.

But I feel like I remember that they had a post about working with the Hickmans on their IG. It was a reel and showed the Hickmans teaching “continuing education” in their tiny ass conference room. With caption about learning from their experience scaling business through social media.

It’s gone now and I wonder why they removed it. Did they possibly figure out how bad the Hickmans’ online reputation actually was?

not having to worry about your rent going up?!!! My mortgage goes up every year! anyone else?

Ours doesn't. We have a fixed rate though.

We do too, but the taxes and insurance go up every year and they are bundled with the mortgage payment.

I just wonder how it feels to make videos about how renting is paying someone else’s mortgage when they pissed away the only significant investment vehicle they had.

They have a professional realtor shaking her ass to a song about adultery whilst answering the question “How much do you need for a down payment?”

This company is one day going to look back at this era in their social media as the bad time.

    Look at her leg!!!! WTF????

That pic is just absolutely photoshopped all to hell. She’s made her midsection half its size and the pic has to have the frankenleg to match.

Since she's such a genius psychologist now I wonder if she's ever seen Maslow's hierarchy. She and Aaron are barely hanging out in the bottom tier with no signs of moving up.

That's about as unthriving as a person can get Kimbo.

It’s a better narrative for her than “manifesting didn’t work so we just decided to make the best of being poor”

Framed that certificate from coursera like it’s a medical degree.

Every time she pontificates on a subject she just highlights her lack of education.

Imagine you are a Yale professor and Kimi tracks you down on insta to tell you all about how you don’t understand accumulating advantage (“the Matthew effect”).

Today in stories, Kimi bitches about people recording while driving; she herself is recording… while driving.

She’s in her driveway, so it’s okay you see - do as I say, not as I do.

Should have stayed in her Georgia house instead of of uprooting to different countries. I wonder where they live now. She should also go back to YouTube so she can make money.

Maybe they should have stayed in the GA house, but what they really should have done is read the room a little and maybe figured out how to be half decent people. The grift was only going to last so long and they made so many stupid decisions, alienated so many people, and showed their ass so many times - was it any wonder it fell apart for them? A more cautionary tale never (well, scarcely) existed.

Phew, there is nothing so unbothered as an influencer making their 384th insta story about being unbothered.

Predictably, I found the “Homemakers, I’m worried about you” video terribly ironic. I’m a full time working mom, parent to a very busy teenage musician attending to 40+ hours of work and 15+ hours of rehearsals and lessons a week, with a spouse who helps but can’t shoulder much of the kid activity burden. So I understand burnout and exhaustion. Burnout is just what I do on Tuesdays.

Her suggestions are quite sound by themselves. Rest, recreation, exercise, sleep.

It’s the context that makes it hollow. She has promoted a cultural idea that adds burden to homemakers. Her “no yoga pants” philosophy directly promotes the idea that if you are doing your chores in gym shorts and a t-shirt rather than a $250 yoga set or a silk dress, you are not “appearing chic always” and therefore doing something inferior.

She has carried water for performative wealth, whiteness, and patriarchy for years and has no idea that in part homemakers are exhausted because there is so much work to be done and we additionally labor under the expectation that we do it beautifully and with elegance, a confounding factor which she herself has actively created primarily for the purpose of elevating herself.

I listened to Oaklee’s video on the site refund issue, and couldn’t help but wonder, where are all the accountants, attorneys, and other professionals Meg hired to run their multiple million dollar businesses? The ones who advised them on their PPP loans etc? Surely a half assed accountant could have cleared this up for them in an hour.

I assume they are gone like everything else, but what do I know?

Hey Meg… to quote someone I once heard say something to this effect….

“If you’re broke, just say that!”

I predict she comes back with a story such as: Molly developed cancer whilst overseas and we came back early to avail ourselves of stateside veterinary care. We chose not to exploit her last days on camera.

I expect in reality she died from the stress of driving around in the back of a car from cold Airbnb to cold Airbnb. I would hope to think I was wrong on that but it all feels so foreseeable.
