I’ve never been a Don-fan, but I also think we mostly only saw him through Jen’s filter. (I mean, his Tinder profile alone told us a few surprising things about him.)

In real life, at the stage he’s currently in, I could see the whole idea of him (not just his lack of sex appeal) as being attractive to a divorced woman w/ young children of her own.

And I think Don is very much a “happy wife/happy life” kinda guy; as long as his wife is being reasonable herself & wearing high heels occasionally, Don is probably pretty adaptable to his wife & whatever she’s thinking.

(As an aside, in my fanfiction, Emily knew Tensleigh & hired her to do some kind of catering for a Raven event, & that’s how Don & Tensleigh met.)

And, regarding Jen & her lack of a love life, even though she currently doesn’t watch TV, at one point, she WAS watching TV because she confessed to watching “Virgin River” & claimed to have made up the story/theme in “Virgin River” in her head long before she had ever seen any of the episodes.

So, I think that’s who Jen is looking for & thinks she’ll find - a guy like the main love interest/hero in “Virgin River” - a Jack Sheridan type, rugged & outdoorsy yet gentle & romantic. (I’ve only watched the 1st 2 episodes of “Virgin River,” so I have no idea if the main characters get together & stay together or if Jack Sheridan remains the hero or not.)
