Although you paint a somewhat gloom picture, I have to agree with you.
Internet will probably be the downfall of human civilization.
People are getting angrier and weirder all the time and they don't seem to be able to disagree with someone in a civil and polite manner.
People are harassed, threatened, sometimes even death treaths, not normal.
I believe this is all fueled by misinformation, fake news, and, of course, all kinds of people like Bev.
The complete idiots, who have no idea what they are saying but are spewing hate just for the sake of it.

There will come a time when "normal" people will abandon that side of the internet completely.

I am wrong: it's not the Outaouais SPCA, where I filed those reports, but the Sûreté du Québec.
  3. .
    The same happened with me.
I called the local police (yes, on the phone, from Europe).
The officer was very polite, wrote everything down, but gave me the impression it's not very high on the priority list.

I've also filed several reports at the Outaouais SPCA, complete with video links, but they don't seem interested.
I think that is very strange.
I also told them she is promoting drug use at TikTok, which is, after all, a children's channel.
Again, they don't seem to care.

I have done what I can, I am also not pursuing this any further.
It's is good to hear they know what is going on there and when they keep hearing it from several different sources, maybe they will take action.

I've also thought about calling the garage, where Howie works and tell them I have no intention to bring my car to a place where drugs are used and dealt, but I didn't know which garage it was...

I just watched her "garden" video.
When I started watching her a couple of years ago, I really thought that she was good in what she did.
But she just said that she didn't know that zucchini has male and female flowers...
For me that was about the first thing I learned this year.
I think that she is vewy, vewy stupid...

    Glad to hear that!
Waking up every morning is definitely a good thing... lol
But yes, long covid is a b*tch.
Take good care of yourself! <3

I hope you are doing well, haven't seen you here for a while.

Also MIA here for the summer?

I hope everybody is doing well and is just being really busy.

I am glad for you that everything went well.
I hope you will be up and about in no time.

Thank you ladies! (or gentlemen, I am still confused here... lol).

@ Lighthouse: I really like the metal beds.
Slugs and snails do not climb up metal surfaces, so there is one pest less to concern myself with.
O yes, we are really told to step away from gas and oil.
Especially now, with all that is happening.
But the problem is: that can't be done overnight, it will take years.

    ToniG How are you doing?
It's great to see you here, I hope you are recovering well!

I just think it's funny she calls that weeds...
I have to buy the seeds and sow it.
It's actually going into my "winter garden".

    550x816

Here is a picture of my little square foot garden.
I am growing all kinds of different things, just to see and learn how they grow and what they need.
That way I can choose the right plants for a larger garden next season.
Right now I have one "winter bed", because I want to see if I can grow food all year round.
I have shielded my peas for the sun, because they really don't like the heat.
The pumpkins (in the back) are doing great!
And my cabbages are doing surprisingly well.

EU countrygirl I was thinking of you recently, the reports of heat in Europe are frightening, especially since air conditioning is rare there. We’re in the 100’s and humid where I am in the states and have farm land, but because if heat and drought we don’t expect to make much from our corn crop. It appears that’s the case for many farmers in our country this year.

Your garden sounds lovely and exciting and you’ve now caught the gardening bug! Very wise to start with what’s manageable and learn as you go, so many don’t and become overwhelmed and give up.

Stay hydrated and best wishes during these trying times!

    Thank you! <3

That is really bad news about your corn crops failing...
The world needs that corn, but it is your income, you have to live from those crops.
I hope you have enough to be able to save seeds for next year.
    Farmers are hit hard...
Crops are failing all over the globe, it seems.
Those extreme weather conditions are unheard of.

Resting Bitchface I wish you a speedy recovery!

    Welcome here PrettyBird

We only get mice in the winter time, last winter we have relocated about 40 of them.
They are not getting in the living quarters, hubby sealed that off completely, but they come in underground between the walls and live in our attick.
Nothing we can do about that, that's living in farm land for you...

We are having a heat wave here, temperatures are tropical.
That is very atypical for where we live, but we will be getting more of those days from now on.
I have some plants in my garden that do not do very well with the heat, so I spend my days covering them up with straw and hay.
I think that it will protect them from the scorching sun and it will keep the moisture in the soil.
I hope that I am right, I am learning as I go. lol
I've harvested my first (ever) potatoes and I am very proud of the yield.
It's not much, I had only one container, but I have learned how it works, so next year I will plant a lot more.
I have one other container that will be ready by the end of august.
The rest of the garden is producing great for us, zucchini, peas, beans, lettuce, Swiss chard, carrots, tomatoes, pumpkins, everything is doing great.
I work in my garden every day and it looks great!

I have started to buy seeds for the next years to come, I keep hearing that 2023 will be worse than 2022 (foodwise and crop yields wise), so I want to be prepared.
I am learning about winter gardening, I want to extend my growing season and have fresh produce during the winter time.
I am doing lots of research and it seems doable.

I am really glad I bought our wood for the wood stove so early in the year.
People are panicking, and buying all the wood they can lay their hands on.
The natural gas companies here still say we don't have anything to worry about next winter as far as gas supplies go, I really ask myself under what rock they live.
Tomorrow we will know whether or not Russia decides to deliver any more gas, we'll wait and see.
I plan on buying a rocket stove, so I can still cook food, ICE.
The rocket stove works on wood, so that will be my alternative.
    Exiting times, my friends!

I hope you are all doing well!
I still don't need Bev in my life, I focus on other things these days.
It's too hot to do extensive baking, but as soon as the weather cools down, I'll start learning again to bake more bread products and pies.
I found some very nice other channels about homesteading and cooking, and I am learning a lot.

You all have a nice day! <3

EU countrygirl Hi! Been wondering how you are doing and hoping things are looking better. Sending good thoughts!

    Thank you Amazed1123
I haven't been following Bev for a while, because I really need some positive things right now, and Bev doesn't fit that criteria.

I am not a doom and gloom person, but this whole war is getting to me.
I am concerned about the lack of natural gas and what it will be coming winter.
Not essential industries will be shut down, but also commercial greenhouses that produce food.
Hubby and I are thinking how we can heat the house (or at least part of it) if there is not enough gas.
We'll manage, I am sure, but the mere thought of having to deal with that makes me anxious.

The farmers here are protesting, because some have to close their farms, due to environmental issues.
I am not saying there are no issues, but it seems sort of extremely stupid to shut down farms that produce food, with all the food shortages that are already here and will become much more severe the next years.

    My garden is producing great.
This year was some sort of learning process, I have never done any gardening and it seems producing food is more important now than ever.
    I am learning fast.
But I feel pressured to choose what I decide to plant wisely, because this is our primary source of produce coming months and maybe next year.
And the whole situation does not leave room for error.

Well, never mind me and my gloomy disposition right now.
I'll be fine, I just have to shake this negativity.

I hope that you are all doing well!
I am reading here from time to time to see what our loving star seed is doing.
Not much, it seems, but that is nothing new... lol
