| Because I was in non-posting mode (in between identities) when the whole "how long did you date before getting married" was a thing....
I met a medical student who used to study at night in the empty recovery room adjacent to the ICU where I worked. He went home and told his roommate "I met the girl you are going to marry". Unbeknownst to me, this roommate came to the ICU specifically to meet me under the cover of bringing food to share with the nurses. He was a smooth operator, this one. The first thing he ever said to me was "You look like you could eat a lot of pizza". We were married 10 months later.....45 years ago. He still brings me pizza. I only eat one slice.
ETA: We nurses also occasionally took care of patients in the ICU in addition to meeting medical students.
