Charlotte is a cute baby but you've seen one snap of her you've seen them all.
The topic of alternative universe Jen got me thinking about the people I knew in grad school who went because they had no idea what else to do or how to do anything other than be a student. I see Jen going that route, though I don't know if she'd continue with Art History. I took so many Art History classes that I toyed with the idea of adding it as a second major, they were easy classes that boosted my GPA. You really don't need to love or even understand art, a lot of those classes are rote memorization (name the piece, the artist, the year, the style, etc.) which is perfect for Jen, lots of flash cards and no real analysis or thinking required. Even the papers were easy, the prof gives you a painting or sculpture, and you regurgitate the prof's opinions on that style or artist and get an A.
Anyway, I can see grad school as one option. Or, considering her level of ambition, intelligence, and common sense, I see her as being the receptionist or office manager at a small company and never amounting to much. She'd live with her parents until she found someone to marry. Depending on this theoretical husband, she can become a housewife and we get this Jen, or she continues her administrative job and never goes anywhere in life.
BTW, no offense if there are any office managers reading this. I've known several who took that position to make money and then move forward. But I've also known a few who were dumb as shit and stuck in their high school mentality. They were in their positions for over 20 years and will only ever remain at that level until they retire or get fired.
Or... maybe Jen and Don are soulmates and meant to be together in any universe because who else in the world could put up with them.
