What really broke my heart was when Asa said to Isaiah that you won the home coming king crown not for being the cool popular kid at school. You could see Isaiah was uncomfortable about the statement and looked like his feelings were hurt. No the wild kids are not always most popular. Isaiah is more of a Jock sports kid that plays foot ball and gets good grades and the kid on kid that will go far in this world. I wish would think about what he said to his son. . -

Here are my feelings about Fathering Autism:
Isaiah: Waaaaaaay too much responsibility on this kid for caretaking. I don't think the parents are especially lazy, but it's easy to fall into this trap when you have the sibling of a special needs kid who's a people pleaser and compassionate. I don't think it's at a critical level, but I think someone in their life should have a sincere discussion about it. I genuinely think he's a good kid. Caring and doing too much is a pretty great issue to have with a kid.
Priscilla: I think she's trying to be the best version of herself, and I appreciate that. As a special needs mom of a kid with behavioral problems, you're not allowed to be frustrated, yell at your kid, have a couple cocktails to cope with their bullshit, etc., without harsh judgment from everyone (inside and outside your tribe). I only see what's on camera, but there are times she genuinely needs to tell Asa to go fuck himself, and I hope she does.
Abbie: I don't know what it's like to have a nonverbal teenager with behaviors, ataxia, and despite the family's delusions, some obvious receptive language issues. She's a textbook perfect case of classic autism; she doesn't seem to have a concept of social value. Again, I only see what's on camera, so maybe the family is right and she isn't as cognitively impaired as she appears, in which case, she needs more discipline. I can see why there's an issue keeping respite. She needs to see a behavioral psychiatrist and a developmental pediatrician, both of whom specialize in autism, and there needs to be a plan to help Abbie reach her full potential, if she hasn't already maxed out. Current ABA and psych plan seems to be to foist her upon society and medicate for the worst of the worst. I suspect things could be better, and I don't blame the family. Families are inaccurate reporters, and good specialists should cut through the bullshit.
Asa: I have mixed feelings on Asa. He seems to genuinely love his family, and he tries to take responsibility; it's just that sometimes he does a shitty job, and doesn't cope well with criticism. I don't blame him for telling people if they support Abbie, they'll watch or buy merch or whatever. It's effective marketing, and he wants to provide a good life for his family. He's also brimming with hubris and isn't as smart as he thinks he is.

This chick Lauren has an autistic daughter and a web site. Not sure it's just me but isn't she a clone of Asa? I cringe when I see her. She should be married to Asa they would see how stupid they both sound.

I'm kind of conflicted. I'm a special needs parent as well, so I can relate to a lot of things. I do feel like they are nice people in general, and good, patient parents. ( I hope, we only see a few minutes of their day). I just feel like their channel has changed and not for the good. I think anyone that quits a real job to v log is a cop out. Me being judgey. LOL.
Yes I've seen Lauren's channel and she's just another make $$ off my kid. I think that they, too (and her mom) care for their child, just not enough to protect her privacy. I think that child is on her iPhone or ipdad constantly. Yes I will judge. LOL. Maybe Lauren and Asa have something on side. Otherwise they just promote each others channels. Its all about the $$$$$.. -

Likewise. I used to enjoy it but I have unsubscribed from several YTubers this week including this one. I do think Isaiah is a kind soul and am glad he will get some freedom when he leaves for college. My opinion has certainly changed about these people. I feel for Abbie. She appears to want for nothing but what she needs most, she only gets from Isaiah and he’s leaving soon. I don’t blame them for grasping hold of a way to support Abbie in the future but it’s definitely at a cost to both Abbie’s and Isaiah’s youth and privacy.. -

I used to like them but now Asa kind of turns my stomach. He has a holier than thou attitude despite his good deeds and charities. The massive continual spending has really turned me off-he should not film it I think-it made me stop watching and only occasionally tune in. I mean I am happy for their success but every single vlog with the spending then justifying the bragging with a good deed or charitable thing. Well that's how it seems to me anyway.
Priscilla's wls surgery and dental implants were and are expensive. I don't think this is all for her to be healthy and live longer. She is vain about her looks and I think it's ok for her to say I want to look good too-I think any of us would try to look better too but don't says it's just for health reasons alone. If that were the case she could just get dentures. So sick of Asa trying to justify and say its for her health alone.Thanks for the thread!

I hope so too but may not ever happen. The vlog with the speech specialist explained Abbie might not physically be able to ever speak. So sad makes you wonder what she would say.. -

I haven't checked their vlogs in awhile so I watched the Christmas one. Still spending away got a brand spanking new golf cart. At least Abby will get enjoyment out of this. I don't feel bad but got tired of their bragging about having their best year ever. It's all about the Benjamin's it was their best year financially we can see it in the vlogs. Don't fault them for it but be honest don't say it's because of stuff like humanitarian causes etc. .
