I’m still a thread behind, this board is still flying! Like many others, I was on the hayride until the video dropped. I just couldn’t see it. But clearly there’s a lot lurking behind the scenes. That “caged” in Oregon is so telling.
I also got sucked into watching some old MHWL vlogs for good times’ sake, and just watched their 8th anniversary video. So classic: a Target haul, a visit to Chicago and stay in Trump Towers, a cheesy card from Aunt Julie AND Winnie.
Anyway, in the car on the way downtown, Jen is being really flighty and Don makes such an unnecessary condescending remark (but she’s still playing the game so she laughed it off). Then there’s an interesting bit where she tells him Judith asked her to name one adjective to describe each year of their marriage. She chose to pick one over-all word (LazyLikeJen) and guess what it was?!? Evolving! Just thought that was interesting given many (including me) think this could be the 2020 One Little Word. Shit’s evolved, all right. Or perhaps devolved would be more appropriate.
EvenMoreLazyLikeDon offered up “Awesomeness.” Which is maybe the lamest, most impersonal choice ever. Shocker these two couldn’t put in the hard work to make it last.

(Before the time stamp, he also mentions that they have “big plans” for the anniversary. It turns out to be that they’re going to go to New York in December to see the Rockettes, but I just immediately thought of something pervy going down in Trump Towers that night 🤮). -

She has 2 sisters in law. She could have given it to her brother’s wife at Thanksgiving. She didn’t say Emily.
Anyway, when my parents divorced they still refers to each other’s siblings as Bro/sis in law. If it’s a long term marriage I don’t think that’s unusual.

I have a son and grand daughter who died when a drunk driver plowed into their car.
His wife, my grand daughter's mother, remained in our lives.
She found a new man with three sons and they are all part of our lives.
She is my DIL and he is, now, my SIL.
And I gained three grands.
I have another son who never married, but had a child with a woman, who I referred to as my DIL.
They split up when the kid was two-ish.
They both still come for holidays, along with their new lovers, who are also my DIL and SIL.
Makes it quite peaceful for their boy.
We even sometimes take family vacations with this entire motley crew.
It's actually a very nice dynamic.
I hope their family can pull it off, too.
I’m interested to see how petty or not-petty this all becomes.
I secretly root for not-petty, but Jill might be a snag in the process.
These two families have been deeply enmeshed for nearly 20 years. Does that just change overnight?. -

.I too am Suzanne. These quizzes have been a nice distraction tonight. My anxiety is a little out of hand as we got notified that my husband whose been out of the military for a while now but in the reserves has to report a few hours away. No idea in the world what this means since he’s never been called before so I’m a little stressed out.

It made me think of CC Babcock from The Nanny. Charlotte Ross is a beautiful, strong sounding name.
I used to wonder, when Jen might not show her left hand, was she hiding bare fingers. Then she began showing it again. Now she’s back to hiding & now I’m wondering if she’s hiding the fact that she IS wearing them. Jen, you seem as at peace as anyone can be with a situation like this. Take off the damn rings and put them away with the disposable combs for Charlotte.. -
