Eta: they are talking about getting a new house to be “emotionally prepared” but neglected the fact about dad moving out. Ok.

ETA: Good Luck selling that house in the current market. IL housing market never recovered from the housing crash like most of the country. Now add the virus? They are going to take a HUGE loss on it. They are beyond fortunate that there’s no mortgage on it.

After Charlotte informed us that they’re getting a new house, Jen looked visibly uncomfortable and then explained that the kids knew because they’d been talking about it as a way to “emotionally prepare.” 
You all were right that she was only cleaning out the office in preparation to move. How many months has she been at it now? This is the longest transition ever!. -

My grandson is the same age and they have a split level ( so only 7 steps- not 25 like Jen has) and he is never far away from mom and NOT on another floor. -
