How can anyone think it’s normal to order 500 cards with sandpaper cursive letters on them for their personal use at home? It’s just nuts.

I hate that porn music she uses on her tomorrows latte IG story.

Well everybody now definitely knows that Jen is Jewish. (Or her mother’s family are which would make her)

    Why is this relevant?

QUOTE (Frumpus Rumpus Cafe @ 4/20/2020, 07:51 PM)
It’ll be interesting to see if she’ll be able to reign in the spending on herself. Maybe she’ll finally have to spend it on the kids in order to fill her addiction to buying since she can justify it/convince Don to let her if it’s for them and not her.

The gourmet chocolates, Whole Foods grocery bill, local artist pottery custom orders will quickly put her in debt depending on the settlement amount.

And I just have to say that every time someone brings up Donny’s language that I am just as baffled by it as you are. My daughter was born within days of him and while this may seem like bragging I’m truly not trying to. She is not the norm, I know that, but she’s incredibly verbal. She doesn’t stop talking. I don’t mean gibberish, I mean conversations, making up stories, a true dialogue with her all day. And I know other 2 year olds who don’t talk very much, but their parents work with them. I’m just shocked every time I hear Donny NOT talking And just making sounds.

Honestly it’s one of the only things holding my interest at this point with her, is waiting to see glimpses of him because of how little he talks. I have to imagine the school must have been working with him on it right?

I don't have kids so I will have to defer to the parents here on what is normal speech behavior for a 2 year old. I recall someone commented on one of her Lives that they thought Donny might be autistic. That could account for his lack of verbal skills perhaps?

Any other theories on why a child is not talking, assuming it is normal for a child his age to be talking?

I hardly ever comment on here anymore but still read the board even though I stopped watching jen's IG and YouTube. Everytime people criticize Donny's delayed speech it just annoys me SO MUCH. Everyone is an expert. Everyone either has children who spoke early or all the children they know in person have. Criticizing Jen for sport is just fine with me, she has it coming to her, but criticizing a non-verbal toddler is really low.

I have a son several months older than Donny. He has been getting speech therapy services through Early Intervention since he was 18 months old. Due to Covid 19 his speech therapy has been on hold for the past month, and guess what? He started talking, all on his own when he was ready. He didn't make quick progress with speech therapy although he did make progress, but it was slow. All of a sudden 2 weeks ago he just started talking in sentences, and he's made insane leaps in a short period of time. I have been sharing videos with our extended family and everyone is amazed and so happy. My son is much happier too and has far fewer tantrums now that he is able to communicate more easily.

I think he is still slightly behind his peers but I have no doubt he will catch up quickly. He had been tested multiple times and always tested very high in receptive language (what he understands) compared to expressive language (what he could say). He is not on the autism spectrum and nobody ever even considered it as a possibility in his case.

All this is to say he was a lot like Donny with his delayed speech, and then he started talking when he was ready. It's so easy to compare children's development, or to claim someone is a good or bad parent based on their child's development and that to me is a load of insensitive bs.

I don't like Jen, and I am indifferent towards her kids, but I just really can't stand people judging an innocent toddler.

Search "late talker" on Google. It's a real phenomenon. Some kids just start talking later than their peers for no rhyme or reason, and there's nothing wrong with them.

I never comment on his speech for exactly that reason. I don’t have kids but I know, everyone is different. When I make a comment then it’s about how easy she had it as both of her kids were human doorstops for a very long time, so that she just could put them somewhere and be sure they would stay. But that has nothing to do with development, could be they were just extremely chill. I don’t think it’s fair to judge things like development or worse, possible autism ( I still don’t know where that came from :agace: ), without having ever met them in real life.

I’ve had something I said here quoted verbatim on her SM, and others said the same thing has happened to them. It really freaked me out because I didn’t want to get banned here for something I didn’t do. I need a safe place to vent!

Yikes! Sorry that happened to you. I don’t even look to see/remember who posted which particular comment (so I wasn’t referring to anyone in particular here). I just noticed that I read some things here and on her SM. That’s even worse if Bakers are taking other bakers’ comments and posting to her SM.

If Jen wants to know what Bakers are saying, she can (does?) read here.

    Night all!

USUALLY, when you see something posted here and then see almost the exact thing in her comments, it is lurkers who are here and then post on her page. It isn't posters who have been here awhile. It is almost always lurkers.

doesn't CC go to Montessori not because Jen chose it but because Suzanne is a Montessori fanatic? you can see it on her bio she claims herself to be passionate about Montessori education. so my point is even her kids education Jen doesn't know shit about it and didn't make any decision on her own, she doesn't have her own identity or philosophy, it's always decided by Don or Don's family.

Yes, her life revolved around the Ross family, everything set in stone by Suzanne and Poopsie, all living within a few miles of each other. Without them she will be floating about feeling clueless. And I've always believed that Don's family tolerated Jen because she was Don's wife, but I feel like they will be quick to let her know that their priority now is to Don, CC and Donny - NOT her.

She’s been dreaming about her latte for 24 hours. Good grief. Make an afternoon latte if that’s all you have in life. InsufferablyRigidLikeJen

You just did judge. "Or worse, autism."

So autism is the "worst" thing to discover a child has. Thanks for clearing that up.

Exactly! It’s not like it’s her cocktail and she doesn’t want to drink too much around the kids. It’s a flipping cup of coffee. I can’t imagine that oat milk has a ton of calories so it’s not like she would have to work out 3 more hours because of it.

That’s not what I wanted to say, it’s how it was presented here. Really sorry if I expressed myself wrong. Again: not a native speaker.

I’ve always gotten the impression from Suzanne that if you’re in her small circle, you’re in. But, if you’re ever out, you’re fully out. She’ll still be civil to Jen because of her grandchildren but the Melissa days are done, IMO.
