Her life is SO depressing. She's in the middle of a divorce that can't be finalized because of COVID, her kids aren't with her on Mother's Day & she can't visit her own parents or go to a spa, and she's spending the day packing up to move out of her biggest security blanket. I'd feel bad for her if she hadn't shitquoted her life away. . -

If the kids are with Don I would bet that's by her choice.
My ex bf's ex-wife would do that - if he had their son on Mother's Day weekend, he would have to drop the kid off early so he could see his mother for breakfast/brunch, then pick him up again by noon at the latest. I thought it was bizarre that a mother wouldn't want to spend Mother's Day with her child, but it was an inconvenience to her time (much like Jen).
It could be that Don took the kids to see Suzanne, then dropping back off with Jen so they could do a drive-by at Jill's.
Still find it odd that she would let him have the kids on Mother's Day at all, but again, it IS Jen we are talking about here, and her "me time" trumps everything else!. -

I don’t find it a big deal that the kids aren’t with her today. It’s not like she can take them to see her mom since her parents seem to be taking the isolation seriously.

Have you watched the basement storage tour? To give just one example... about 5-6 bins (IIRC) of Halloween party specific decorations which they stopped throwing YEARS before and had no plans to start again. Yet she continued to hang on to them for absolutely no reason.
And that was when she was prepared to show that room and considered it organised. Can't even imagine what it's like now when even she calls it a disaster.. -

I think Jens idea of contributing to the household financially is buying a box of light bulbs and going home and working the expense into her budget making sure that there is still enough left for $100 worth of truffles and pizza equipment..
