She mentioned the bunion the next day and included something about her mom. I think she went into the city for lunch with her mom like she used to do in the pre-kids days. And Jill was like, you'd look good except that your bunion is so distracting in those ugly boots, I've been telling you for years to get that fixed, now it's ruined your entire marriage and you live in a hideous empty house because your feet are so ugly.
(I have a mother who acts very much like Jill, and that's totally how that conversation would go.)
