I agree Woodland trees was ugly but at least they were probably kid friendly ornaments.
She gets excited to open things she bought because excessive shopping, like excessive exercising and excessive eating are the way Jen gets endorphin highs.
Her stocking was unfilled last year and there were probably no presents under the tree for her Christmas morning 2019 either, but we didn’t know “officially“ that they had split so she didn’t have to deal with it. Is she going to fill her own stocking this year?
It would be ironic that the person who filled excessive stockings for her extended family and Don‘s family now has no one to fill her stocking. Come to think of it, when I was growing up we only had stockings hanging for me and my siblings. They were never stockings for my parents. Santa was for the children.

We have adult stockings now that Santa “only goes to the houses with young children.” It was mostly because our teen son is an only child and after the beloved family dog passed away last fall, I couldn’t bear the idea of his stocking hanging alone on the mantle. So I went to Pottery Barn Like Jen and ordered personalized stockings for all of us. My husband and I had fun picking out unique yet inexpensive things for each other to fill them.
But I know of plenty of families that always had stockings for mom & dad up, even when there were little kids.

We still put up our dog’s stocking, even though he died years ago. Not on the mantle though, it’s hanging off my daughters door handle as decoration. I’m not sure what to do with it every year but I can’t bring myself to throw it out.
My husband and I fill each other’s stockings. Okay let’s be real, he does my stocking and I fill up everyone else’s

TWO! things....
1. Winnie is probably under the tree because the floor is cold and has no bed thats close enough to see you all.
Shih Tzus are bred soley as companion dogs as need to be with you at all times. I have one LOL. If I accidentally drop a towel on the floor for instance, mine will think its his bed, why not move Winnies bed a lil closer to you ?
2. Those cold chairs in front of TV.. just toss them . Really. I saw the Vicki Gunvalson got a new house in NC. She has this very cute seating area apart from the couch which would look nice in front of the tv,and still provide " conversation area" that Jen demands. Ugh cant upload from the PC. will be right back LOL
