She will never change, ever. Because she thinks she is perfect. Or she wants to pretend to be perfect. Deep down, she is extremely ashamed of herself. That is probably one of the reasons why she does not have close friends. She cannot come close to opening up to anyone honestly. Not even to Don when they were married.. -

The mixture of shame and narcissism is astounding, tho. Despite the shame, she put her life as public as it can possibly be. People ashamed of themselves or their lives don't usually do that. She shared everything with the world, but only while she thought it was a perfect life.
As soon as doo hit the fan, the sharing stopped abruptly. She shot herself in the foot with her previous style of sharing a Pretty neat life ,that now turned to shit. How do you transition from Look at me, I am a Princess, to I am a dumped divorcee with bunions and regrets.

The thing is, she has decided that her hoard is shameful. But that's not necessarily true , or be perceived by all as shameful.
A lot of people might have worse hoards and many will be envious of the stuff she has.
SHE decides what she thinks people should think.She decides this with her kids as well.Anal retentive should be her middle name.
Don must have an extraordinary restraint. I can't stand people like her and I tell them that.. -
