Jen “loves” her children as extensions of herself. The fact that they are also Don’s and an obligation causes her to resent them...even more now that Don left her. I agree with those who said that her resentment towards them and Don was evidenced by the daycare center setup in RM1.
I believe those children know how to behave in public, but they also know how to push Mama’s buttons. It wouldn’t take long for Jen to teach them boundaries (after all, she’s all about setting them with other people), but she is too lazy/disinterested to do any actual parenting. That’s someone else’s (Don, the school) job. She was the incubator and thinks her job is done for the most part. Now she just cashes the checks.
It’s Jen’s World and the kids just live in it...until she can concoct a plan to get big money some other way.

Couldn’t agree more FP. All these are *for her* and she wouldn’t even think to take the kids. She plans up little day trips all for herself and Winnie, specifically when they’re gone. Her life is so separated from them. It’s why she always calls it her “mama time” because when they’re gone it’s Jen Time, her favorite time
