I can’t believe she made a 45 min video about going plant based. She is always so caught up in her own thoughts, her mind must be exhausting not only for her but for those around her. . -

Damn, she looks like Tensleigh in that thumbnail. Same large, wide eyes & colouring . -

Guess Don has a "type" where women are concerned! Hopefully Tensleigh is well-grounded in reality (unlike Jen) and they end up with a family full of kids (his, hers, and theirs). I think Don would love to have a bunch of kids in the house. He just seems to really like kids, unlike Jen.. -

I finally watched it. Fell asleep 3 times. 😂
I do understand how you can be troubled by meat production and want to go vegetarian or vegan.
A couple of things - she mentioned about 5 times how she was looking into health/dietary issues when she stumbled on the meat production stuff. I think that was for Don and his family -she wasn’t “looking for trouble.”
The proclamations that Don could keep meat and dairy on the garage and cook for himself was the real problem. She wasn’t looking to co-exist with her immediate and extended family. She declared she and the kids would be plant based and Don was on his own and his family should not expect to be served non-plant based goods (big-nye cheese platters).. -

I never really thought about it before, but WE HAVE BEEN BAMBOOZLED!!!!!

That was a good day at the bakery. The board was lit that day with comments. . -

Can we chat about how she's projecting? . -

That video still makes me laugh.
First half my head shakes in utter disbelief, the second half, my belly shakes with laughter.
I do agree about red meat though. I don't like the texture, smell or taste.. -

On the disconnect from her body: How does your body feel when you eat a pint of B&J in one sitting?
The funny/sad thing is that she never learned how to cook, how to eat well**, how to eat a wide variety of things like she claimed she wanted to do. You can do all of these things and eat meat or not eat meat, that doesn't even matter honestly and I say this as a former meat avoider.
So I guess she didn't read The Jungle when she was in middle or high school? It was set in Chicago FFS
Or even ask her parents when she was a young kid where her hamburger or hot dog came from? Come ON.
I can't bear to look at her BBQ chickpea slop!
**personally I think enjoying your food factors into this too but I'm sure she didn't mean it that way. -

"We don't even call it what animal it is that we are eating (ie Cow or pig)"
Immediately my mind goes to chicken, fish, duck, lamb etc. she sounds like a complete lunatic in that video. She was projecting her failing mental health/marriage and calling it feeling conflicted about eating meat.
So many good gifs were made from that video.. -

That’s one video I’ve never watched the whole way through (just the good parts!)
Don must be so happy to be away from that.. -

Another random thought, I just watched the zoo video and please tell me we discussed this damn sloth vs anteater foolishness. I see why she doesn't have friends. . -

At 30+ years of age and she "thought her leather goods were made from cows that had died naturally of old age". Is this woman brain-damaged?! I genuinely hope she is under psychiatric care! I'm surprised Don hasn't tried to get custody of the kids. I'd be worried she'd drown the kids in the bathtub.. -

I can’t bear to watch it again. . -

I think this video is the result of 3 things:
1. Disordered eating
2. A documentary about going vegan
3. Postpartum depression
I think she was looking for ways to lose weight (if I remember correctly this was also the time when she started over exercising again). Stumbled on something about becoming vegan and then watched the documentary (or maybe read a book). And the postpartum feels kicked in (especially bc she was breastfeeding and could relate to the cows).
But the point is- I really think this all started with her disordered relationship with food and trying to find something to help her control food intake..
