I call BS on the whole memory capturing whatever she’s calling it Yes she’s practically a saint compared to most of these other youtubers but no one goes around posting private family moments home videos allover the internet publicly and if that was the case she’d have them unlisted where only people (family, friends) she approved could watch it She might not be the skinny blonde big boobs showcasing her little ones for content but she’s no different she likes the attention makes her feel important and more than just a housewife sahm I would love to see how many channels would still be around if it was “ just a hobby “ and the potential for income from ads and sponsors wasn’t there I also find she’s always fishing for approval through these videos she makes Think about that you’re validating your self worth from total strangers imo that’s not very godly

QUOTE (Isecretlycopyher @ 5/3/2022, 06:07 AM) I call BS on the whole memory capturing whatever she’s calling it Agreed!! Especially because it's so obvious that Jaxson doesn't want to be filmed. Plus it kind of irritates me when she's filming at his soccer games and includes other kids (and adults) or at the wedding they just went to and she filmed a lot of people there. I would be pissed if I found out she was filming me or my kids without permission at a private event AND making money off the video. That's just not right.
Also, I just want to throw out that I think whatever she did to the cinder blocks in Marion's "man cave" looks horrible. Most of her other "faux" walls are OK-ish (too many at this point), but that one is bad.

I like her overall. I like that she makes the most of her little home. And she seems like a very loving if slightly overbearing Mom. (She is constantly meeting up with her daughters for movies and shopping and they may love it but she just seems up in their business all the time.) What irritates me is her overbearing brother Patrick. I understand he had a TBI and I think she must be a guardian over his bank account so she helps him budget every month. But when she posts with him in the video I just don't watch. I feel he is being exploited for her benefit.

I disagree with the assumption she exploits Patrick. I don’t think she felt it necessary to explain his TBI until viewers started asking questions like is he married? Why is he so happy all the time? Suggestions that he should start his own YouTube channel. I think she waited as long as she could and until he was comfortable with talking about his accident on camera. I’m sure she will be challenged as her channel grows to stay to her Christian format and not become to much into the sponsorships. I can see how her vlogs must get boring for some as she doesn’t really do a lot of exciting things. My life is probably even more so since I enjoy watching her.

I don't feel he's being exploited at all. Yes, he's had a TBI and lives with its effects today, but he's obviously well enough to drive, hold a job, have an independent life. Arika helps him with his budgeting but I don't think he relies on her for other major assistance. And he seems like a truly happy man who is probably fun to be around, in smaller doses because he does seem to have a very large personality.
As I said in another thread before this one, I do mostly enjoy her channel. But there are some things that annoy me from time to time and since this is a gossip site, I'm here to gossip about it.

Overall, I like Arika. I like the way she shares her faith. She does it in a gentle way. She seems to live what she preaches ...i dont think she has a mean spirited bone in her body. I like when ppl share their religions (i.e. Jar of fireflies). I also like that she and her husband are tender and sweet towards eachother. They're a great team. She's simple in the best way; a lovely, capable, caring homemaker.
I have to look past her love of "faux" ...brick, shiplap, etc. The barn door'esque faux finish on her bedroom closet doors is unforgivable. Her love of tiffany blue for walls, decor, dishes is less than appealing and way overdone. It's actually a bit on the "now this is getting weird" side, as are the signs and labeling of EVERYTHING. How many signs and labels does one person need?! Whenever one of these mommies gets one of those Cricket (?) machines, I know we're in for a full on signage onslaught.
The signage mommies go over the top. I mean do they really needs signs that they they're "blessed"? Do they not know where to "EAT" or do "LAUNDRY" without a sign? And no farmer ever had a "fresh eggs sold here" sign in the kitchen; it's out by the road at the farm stand. Damn you, Joanna Gaines!
Arika just does what she does and shares it, not to tell others what to do, but to give them encouragement to homemake in their own way.

She had her channel a long time before they spoke about Patrick's TBI. She approached it all very gently and allowed him to speak. It's always a tricky path for these YTers to discuss these things. They'll be thanked by some viewers and accused by others of exploitation.
He's in her life on a regular basis. Her channel is about her life and all that's in it. No need to hide it, imo.

It's actually a bit on the "now this is getting weird" side Hahaha yes!! And that's actually my favorite color too - long before farmhouse was even a thing. But I don't have it featured in eleventy billion knick knacks all over my house. Although if I didn't already have a white Kitchenaid mixer from my bridal shower oh-so-many years ago, I might be tempted ... But it's not kept out anyway, so no one would see it even if I did replace it, which I won't.
I agree with pretty much everything you said. Arika does seem to be a nice person. Nicer than me, anyway, since I'm the one her gossiping about her. LOL!

I actually love the decals she put on her mixer. Maybe adding those to yours would give your white mixer a bit of a decorative lift. I have a white one too ... decades old.
I'm not into "eleventy billion" (lol) chachkies either. Chachkies give me spacial anxiety. Arika seems to love them though. We all get comfort from our homes in different ways. That's her overall message, imo. "Do it your own way ...and here's how I'm doing it."
Agree about our flaws.

I admit I love stuff, which is why I enjoy her channel. I wish I was more like her in faith. Pretty much agree with all of the responses.
