Don was barely allowed to touch CC as an infant so I imagine it was the same with Donny. It wouldn’t surprise me that Don wouldn’t know how to give a bottle, as an example, since Jen nursed both kids (and I remember her saying CC refused to even take a bottle). He didn’t have much practice and I doubt Jen would have let him anyway.
To me this looks more like Jen is a rigid control freak than a commentary on Don’s abilities.

I was wondering (seriously....I need another word!) if maybe the lag in posting was kind of mandated in the context of keeping the kid's privacy? it's such a huge shift in how she did things for 11 years.

I just don’t have blinders on regarding him simply because of his political and economical views. I won’t shit on him for the sake of shitting on him.
Suzanne is more than capable of just needing a note with bedtime and favorite foods. Instead Jen made her photo guides. Don is practically an afterthought in that list (much like he was in her mind). Suze should have been completely insulted by what Jen did. But Jen did what Jen does: attempts to control everyone around her while screaming about being caged.

Also, Suzanne is exactly the sort of person who likes and admires fluffy how-to directions with pretty pictures and easy-to-follow directions.

He can’t move an umbrella because he’s fat and out of shape, not because he doesn’t know how.
We’ll never know how hands on or hands off he is as a parent because Jen only showed what she wanted to show. It wouldn’t fit her Mama Martyr narrative to show him as competent.
