I don't think it's said here enough just how terrible and bizarre all of her "solo trips" are as a Mom of two young kids. It's weird as hell.

Jen describes herself as an introvert, but she's actually a loner. An introvert is someone who gets their energy (or recharges) by being alone, but can still love being around people and love socialising. They just need to recharge after a while.
Jen just hates other people. Other people existing is an inconvenience to her. Even her own children - she literally can't wait to get away from them. Unless someone is there to tell her how wonderful she is she has no use for them, therefore they are just a nuisance. Those guys in the barn - why do they even exist? They don't serve Jen in any way!
That was Don's purpose - to shower Jen with unconditional praise, love and cash. This is why she has totally failed at dating - guys in dating apps won't offer those things.

Why is it Jen can now leave Winnie alone for hours, without her little booties to keep her from scratching herself, while she goes spelunking?
For years Winnie had to go to Aunt Julie’s if they went out to dinner or on Errand Tuesday. (Is Errand Tuesday even still a thing?)
