I think Jen is quiet because it's difficult to be enthuisiastic about van life and camping when Gabbi Petito has been found dead*. The last time Jen tried to jump on the bandwagon of the death of someone in that community (which she is not part of but wants to be) she tried to make the death all about herself and it resulted in someone calling in a health check.
It's probably wise of Jen to keep her trap shut for a few days.
(*I think it's important to note that Gabbi has probably died in a domestic violence incident which has nothing to do with a nomadic lifestyle specifically.)

I saw that a friend was going to start reading Untamed and I sent her a message and told her not to do it. I said that everyone that I know that has read it has gotten divorced. She laughed and then she messaged me and said that I was right. She started checking and she found 3 friends who read it and then got divorced withint a few months. She returned the book! I consider that a marriage saved!
I have a friend who needs to just bite the bullet and divorce her absolute dick of a husband. The shared opinion of everyone who has ever met him. Maybe I’ll gift it to her as a random act of kindness.
I'm a single woman so I run no risks. I might read it just to see how harmful that book is.
Jen chose a fantastic moment to become 'untamed' - just as she was responsible for parenting two young children.
I don't know why people think that selfishness is the answer to all of their problems. Yes, it might feel like a relief to be rid of all your burdens for a couple of weeks or months. But then the realisation of what you've done kicks in. Your ex-husband flourishes without you and upgrades to a hotter version of you. It hurts and there's no going back.
The problem here, Jen, is that the power of YOUR story lies in what happens when you lie to thousands of people on the internet as a form of entertainment to them and attention for you, as you lie to yourself about the reality of your empty, miserable life.

Actaully- I think it speaks loudly about the Romanticism people draw from Van Life online
all people saw of Gabby ONLINE was joy and happiness and pretty pictures JUST LIKE LEE whom Jen obbsessed with after the fact
Its an extremely lonely life and one of the Van Life people Jen follows made a video that every few weeks she house Sits because she just has to get out of that van-but if you just follow her IG you see this-

I've been curious about the book as well but then I try to sit through a 10 minute interview with her and I start squirming. There are so many other books I'd rather read. I have a big TBR stack too, not that I'm complaining.
Still, I wonder how such a damaging book and writer has had endorsement from so many big people like Reese Witherspoon and Elizabeth Gilbert, also Oprah, countless others

I agree Beetrix, even though that's a stupid way for her to express it.Simply not posting the video with the kids would have been enough of a message. It's stupid anyway because this message will be gone in 24 hours and her YT audience that doesn't cross over to IG will never see it.
