Kids are always watching. They watched you fight. They watched you cry. They watch you pack to run away the second they are out the door. They are always watching and internalizing.

I know we only see snippets of Tens, but it’s so obvious that’s she’s 10000x more self-aware and secure in herself than Jen. Even if just based on her style and jewellery. Like her style or not, she’s consistent with how she presents herself from what we’ve seen.
Think about the never-ending stream of jewellery Don bought Jen. It wasn’t a curated collection of fine jewellery that suited a specific style. It was a mixed up mess of countless styles, most of which we never even saw her wear. Her bag collection was the same. Her clothing? Same. Shoes? Same. Most people have a small collection of finer investment jewellery that coordinates, and then they fill in with less expensive trendy pieces. Not our Jen, though. She would haemorrhage huge amounts of money on clothing and accessories she never used, because they weren’t things that suited her but instead things that she just impulsively wanted for a second. Her impulsive buying, and never-ending morphes into whichever YouTuber she was obsessing over, proves that she was always confused about her own taste.
Tens may be showing off some of her expensive shit in that photo, but that expensive shit actually looks as though it all belongs to the same person. Jen’s collection was a complete mismash of shit that Don randomly bought for her because she didn’t (and, judging by a certain pleather jacket, she obviously still doesn’t) have any real idea of who the hell she is. Tens seems very sure of her tastes, because Don is obviously curating quite a collection for her that actually makes sense in terms of cohesion, unlike his random attempts with PerpetuallyConfusedLikeJen.
