The look she gave, when she closed her eyes and seemed to recoil after each guilty plea haunts me. It can be interpreted in a lot of ways but I took the looks as disgust and shock that she had to say it, not that she felt pain and remorse for what she did. . -

She looked more annoyed than a face asking for forgiveness 🙄 . -

Well yes, I was worried it didn’t look completely sincere. I really am hoping she is as remorseful as she says.. -

I just don't understand how someone can supposedly control you (like she claims she fell under Jodi's control) to the point that you don't even bat an eye when they do anything to your child/ren.
I don't remember what Ruby said exactly but it was basically akin to her being under Jodi's control. I'm not a parent but that's a hard no for me. You even touch my child in any way and that would be the end.. -

It’s not just Jodi though. The LDS church equates the sin of lust to murder. Most LDS households do not allow their teenagers to have their own rooms because they might have inappropriate thoughts or do inappropriate things - and I can almost guarantee you that is why Chad had both his bed and room door removed.
Without being graphic here, a teenage boy could be accused of lust just because his body is doing things that normal, male, teenage bodies do. Things he cannot control. If you, as a parent, have been taught by your church that these things are the result of a perverse mind rather than normative teenage biological changes, then you can see why parents are desperate to stop it. The church teaches that these things - which can occur during sleep or first thing in the morning - are because your child has a problem with lust. As such, they are as a sin which is equal to murder.
If your church teaches that and your therapist - someone who is supposed to be rational, responsible, objective - is backing that up, then you begin to understand where a parent might think extreme solutions are required.
It’s easy for us to say we wouldn’t allow anyone to hurt our child but we haven’t been manipulated and indoctrinated. If you think the ultimate punishment is eternal damnation then you might accept physical abuse as the lesser of two evils. Of course, it isn’t but we’re not talking about rational teaching.
A very vocal ex-Mormon I follow on Twitter talked about how her own mother accused her teenage son of being h**** because he would hug her - his own mum. The mother (boy’s grandmother) told her she had to stop him. That’s how twisted LDS teaching is.
Ruby accused her two youngest children of being abusers. They sexualised children that didn’t even understand what they were accused of.
In a connections video, a mum wrote in that an older boy (18 or 19) was inappropriately texting her 13 or 14 yr old daughter. I can’t remember whether it was Jodi or Ruby but they blamed it on the minor and said she should be punished. No awareness of this being grooming or predatory behaviour - nothing. No advice to report it police. No, the child invited it abd should be punished. The church repeatedly sexualises minors with their bizarre, harmful teaching.I just don't understand how someone can supposedly control you (like she claims she fell under Jodi's control) to the point that you don't even bat an eye when they do anything to your child/ren.

*ETA Ruby may well have questioned it in her own mind but Jodi was endorsed as a therapist by the church. She must have been right 🤷♀️. -

I just saw the video clip of her plea. Imo, She's just sorry she got caught. She still looks evil. I wouldn't have gone to court. You know all the evidence against you... I'm sure the family knew the details. I just couldn't "support" my sibling knowing what she allowed to happen.
She put the kids Instagrams names in all of her vlog descriptions. She led all those inappropriate dms to Chad. To all the kids. Shari said people messaged them all the time saying they see abuse happening to them. She defended her mom and family. (Did ruby make her?) I would love to know her thoughts in a few years on all that.. -
