offering $10 to the first 10 people who message her is cool, but she is a millionaire and does nothing for anyone else, ever. a woman whose podcast i follow posted one of those scannable starbucks giftcards for ALL of her followers as appreciation one time when a book she published was released. she loaded a set amount on the card, and when it ran out, she kept reloading the money throughout the day. she probably spent almost $1k or something, and she is probably not even close to as wealthy as gene.
not trying to shit on paying it forward, because something as little as paying for the person behind you really is a wonderful thing to do, but she is clearly just doing it to receive compliments about how kind she is lol.

I hate the whole "pay it forward" thing at Starbucks. The people behind you in line likely get coffee there every single day and can afford it. While, sure, it is a nice gesture - it's unnecessary. Generously tip your barista instead. Or go to a local coffee shop, who uses your money to pay for their kid's dance lessons.
