I’m not a dog person, can someone please explain the crate situation.
All I know is that dogs feel more secure in their crate.
OK I posted my question right after people responded! You guys are great! So Winnie isn’t fine, She’s been wincing in pain!!! And Jen is doing nothing to help her, except for hiding her in the closet and avoiding the real crisis here!
She really living an empty meaning less life isn’t she? It’s really quite sad.
But this is the life she longed to live for years!!

Re: crying Winnie in the closet crate.
I hate Jen. She is an evil bitch and deserves every ounce of misery life has dished out to her and will continue to. -
.I had a dream last night featuring Don and Tens (Jen was there as a peripheral character).
Tens was lovely, chill and not remotely a princess.
I think this is my sign I am too invested in this shit show 🤦♀️😅I’m not a pet owner…what is the point of putting a dog in a closet who is clearly not comfortable, or is whining…why? What am I missing here? Jen couldn’t sleep?
Crate training is actually a really valid pet-parent method. I mean, my dogs crate isn’t in a closet, but it is hands down the best thing we ever did for our boy (a hyper vigilant poodle with no natural ability to chill or relax).
The premise is that the crate becomes their safe space where they can relax. They will often be covered (we took the cover off ours as it gets too hot here). It basically becomes the dogs den.
ETA: if my dog was clearly uncomfortable, sick or in pain they’d never be in the crate. Having a whingey night is different, but we all know Jen doesn’t do anything in Winnie’s best interest, it is all what works best for Jen
What she's doing isn't anything close to crate training. Winnie is a twelve year-old dog who's never been crated except briefly for flights. And she isn't just anxious and whining - she's in pain because Jen caused a spinal injury and refuses to give her pain meds. Instead of dealing with that in any respect, she's shoving her away in a closet so she doesn't have to hear her.. -

Winnie is at the end of her life. Now is not the time to crate train her and shove her in a closet. She's whining and "restless" all night and Jen doesn't want to hear it. It's obviously in response to pain. Jen keeps insisting Winnie doesn't need meds though and is getting much better. Delusional and cruel.
PUT. THE DOG. DOWN.. -

Why would Jen put the crate in the closet?

Winnie's not being put in the crate for training. It's for Jenny's comfort.
I believe Winnie always slept in the bed, so she probably had to be moved to the closet to as not to disturb Jenny's sleep.
And possibly because she's become incontinent.

Could she be crating her because Winnie is incontinent? . -
.
Don's one little word is probably Tens. It calms him down everytime he gets a whackadoodle text from Jenny.. -
.
The short version is Jen is a shit mum, both of humans and dogs
Crate training (again talking about for young dogs) is great at teaching them to hold their bladder through the night as dogs naturally will not want to go to the toilet where they sleep.
That is SO different to an elderly dog that for neurological or other reasons can no longer hold their bladder.
Apart from incontinence often being the sign for most decent pet parents to say goodbye, if she isn’t ready for that (😡) she should be getting up every couple of hours to take Winnie out to the toilet.
How about you be made to repeatedly piss in your bed and then sleep in it, Jenny. -
.
WTF? Jen is putting Winnie in a crate in a dark closet? This bitch! She is TRASH! This is NOT how you treat a beloved pet! I feel so bad for Winnie. She deserves comfort and peace in her sunset years! I did not think Jen could get any worse. . -
.
Is this truck and crate stuff on her patreon? . -
.
I’ve never hated her more
Get her some dog diapers and pain meds. If that doesn’t help then it’s time to let her go. I know, I've been there.. -
.
Jen is a cruel monster for what she is doing to Winnie. And the Jenions supporting and cheering such a person are a disgrace as well.
Jen is abusing that dog. There is no other word for it. Shame on you, Jen, you grade A asshole.. -
.
WTF?? Where did she say she is putting Winnie in a closet, in a crate?
I am spitting at the screen , I am so pissed at Jen. Seriously??. -
.
She requires her specified hours of sleep (aura ring and endless talking about sleep hours) the kids are basically crate trained with noise machines and set sleep hours. Has she ever mentioned a kid crawling into bed with her? No, they wouldn't dare. Of course she is being a controlling mean turd with her failing, likely incontinent dog. 1 drop of pee on the bed and Winnie got yeeted.

I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I chose to not give my dog pain medication prescribed by the vet after I strapped my dog to a paddleboard, left that vet because I didn't like what he/she had to say (I'm guessing it was "It's time to think about putting her down"), then confined my dog to a crate in the closet because she was making too much noise because SHE IS IN PAIN
It is all so upsetting to me...SPOILER (click to view)When my pets were in their last days, my last one I had to put down and it gutted me, I slept on the floor or on the sofa just to be close to them for their remaining time.
