The whole situation sounds like a horror movie setting to me. The lifeless gray colors, the echoey empty house with only Jen pacing around in anger and notsril flaring, neglected locked up Winnie crying from the closet in pain. Just all really bad vibes . -

It's very upsetting how Jen is treating Winnie especially since we also had a similar situation.
My parents had a sweet little rescue dachshund named Tinkerbell and her back was very long and her legs very short but she was so much fun and lively.
One morning she got up out of her bed on the floor incorrectly (she wasn't allowed on the bed during the night for fear she'd hurt herself) and became paralysed.
My parents were optimistic that they could get a wheelchair and she'd continue to have a great old life and the vet was too but unfortunately she became incontinent and couldn't produce waste.
My parents made the correct decision to put her down as nothing could be done even though hopes were initially high.
We only had her for a year and she was such a sweetie. It was heartbreaking to have our hopes for her dashed.

Whatever Jen does, it always about pleasing herself. She loves Winnie, but only when it serves her... the minute Winnie is a problem or an inconvenience, she's put away in the closet with no wheelchair and no pain meds.
Jen treats everyone in her life like this. Her kids, Don. She ultimately only cares about herself and everything needs to revolve around her needs.. -

As someone who actually cared for 3 dogs (at different times) who aged gracefully with pain meds, a nice piece of velveeta and some full fat yogurt can take care of any tummy upset with pain medication, My pups were never in any pain while we waited for the time to come. She is a selfish, wicked, idiot who can't see past her own stupidity to do what's best for her dog OR her kids..
