If she hadn’t insisted, over and over, that she wasn’t depressed, that they were good friends, that things were great, and insinuated that Don was terrible, without being vulnerable and HONEST about what happened (without minute details), if she’d acknowledged that he’s remarried and how that makes her feel, just been REAL, I’d feel some empathy toward her.
If she’d ever acted HUMAN throughout the whole process, I’d offer up some humanity.

This. Even if you don't want to get back together with an ex, his remarrying will evoke some emotions. But even if you don't want to get into the complex emotions say something rather than pretending it never happened. If she had said, "Don is now remarried to a different woman. I want to respect their privacy so I won't really address anything regarding that situation. I wish them the best." That would have been mature and the high road while putting the issue to rest. But she acts like nothing has happened and her kids don't have a whole other family complete with a bonus mom and siblings.

The reason she's not afraid of hiking alone is because that sharp ass bunion is a built in weapon of mass destruction. That foot throws gang signs & can cut a bitch to shreds at a moment's notice. That along with the stench fumes coming from her makes her immune to any dangerous situation.
