When I was growing up we always had presents from Santa and our parents. I do the same with my child. There's nothing narcissistic about it. I don't see why anyone would object to it. Kids see their parents buying gifts, wrapping gifts, so why would they be confused about receiving gifts from their parents? My child would wonder why I bought gifts for his cousins but not him.
