Car insurance, here in southern NJ, is $220 a month for 2 cars. We are both 68 years old.
Homeowners is $102 per month - 2 bedroom townhouse.. -

Insurance costs...auto, home owners, life, health...vary across the country due to different risk factors. We have tornadoes and fires, but not hurricanes, so comparing our home owners insurance to that of someone who lives in a coastal area doesn't make sense. We also live in a less populated area (less traffic), so can't fairly compare auto insurance to those who live in highly populated areas. That being said, I do shop around for lower costs and also work with my agents to keep policy rates as low as possible. Ya gotta compare apples to apples when it comes to coverage! Replacement costs aren't the same year-to-year, so why wouldn't insurance rates reflect this? I fully expect rates to rise as material and labor costs do, and am amazed that a financial guru like MoMo wouldn't also! . -

Ours is probably higher due to our zipcode. Considered close to the water but we're 4 miles from the coast. . -

We live in a low-crime area but we have hurricanes. We're 20 miles or so from the coast, though. Our homeowners' insurance for a 3-bedroom house is around $1,800/year and our car insurance is around $130/month for one late-model car (husband has a work vehicle and they cover the insurance, which is nice!). On the car insurance, we pay a bit extra for full coverage and a low deductible. These are costs that I do expect to go up a bit each year. That's how it is! . -

Today she suggests ways to make extra money instead of just cutting the budget, but this seems to be advice she is not actually using for herself. . -
.
Dawn has done this video before. She isn't going to drive Uber. She talks about the needs of others to find ways to make more money. Never her. . -
.
All her videos have been done before. Some of them have been done to death.
She would never get a better paying job. And Al would not lift a finger to contribute. -
.
Seems to me Dawn is always just running off at the mouth. None of the “advice” she gives applies to her. She needs to practice what she preaches!!
She is not living frugally if she can find $8k to cut out of her budget. People who live frugally don’t spend monthly at Starbucks, Amazon and DollarTree just to be spending. She’ll never stop eating out and she’ll never change.. -
.
And she'll never stop making copycat videos...someone let me know if she ever comes up with original content! . -
.
Blows my mind that she is cutting her bug service, but no mention of cutting cable.
Sorry I dunno I sense half the shit she said is semi sorta fabricated like the 1000 dollars for deep cleaning thing. How dumb would you have to be to steam clean carpet that has done its dash? Unless you happen to already possess a steam cleaner maybe then.
So she is not cutting the lawn service, the cable, her hair thing (which I guess may be necessary)
I don't think anyone here is being unreasonable when they ask what Al can bring to help this situation out. Why its presented as for granted that the 9 sources are the be all and end all.
Sure you can rattle off a whole heap of side hustles...
I was totally gonna bail on this Money Mom shit, but I guess I'm back again..... -

Really? She is just spouting her be and probably hasn't eliminated anything, won't. She is just looking for donations. She isn't cutting out her daily trips to Dollar Tree, Starbucks, or even the $30 worth of packaged, prepared food she buys weekly. She is looking for supplemental income. Pure and simple. If she got 20 people to send her a $100 gift card that would make a dent in her expenditure, wouldn't it? Tax free without lifting a finger. And can you imagine those same 20 people sending her $500? Now let's go one step further. 50 people sending her $500? . -

Oh you're right about all this!.
