Well, dang.
I looked at Instagram first before the Bakery, & I really thought she was posting all her theatre insta-stories to prove she was in Chicago & NOT Disney.
I had decided that it was either a DIFFERENT Jennifer Ross from Northbrook that had registered for the race or our infamous Jennifer Ross had decided NOT to go to Disney after all.
But, then, I logged onto the Bakery… and SURPRISE!!
Jen really is in Disney.
I honestly don’t care that she’s in Disney w/o her kids. I’m sure she’s not the only parent that’s taken part in some Disney race & has gone w/o kids.
(I know several families that have gone to Disney recently & all have had fun & been completely fine, though. So, if she tries to use Covid as an excuse, it just won’t work.. especially since the kids’ school appears to not currently have the same vacation-quarantine policies that were in place earlier.)
Just own it, Jen. You went to Disney to run a couple of races & didn’t take your kids. You’re either confident (& happy) w/ your choices or you’re not.
And, regardless, she’s going to spin it just like she did her Dolomites trip - “I was in the Dolomites strictly for hiking & NOT to sightsee or eat at restaurants because I’ve already done all those things many times before. This time, it was JUST hiking.”
So, re Disney, she’s going to say, “I was at Disney JUST for the races. It was something I needed to do for me as part of my journey. It wasn’t about the rides or the characters or the restaurants. I didn’t plan for any of those things. This was just about the race & MY personal journey. And there has been & will be other family trips because my heart’s desire is to be with my precious littles & see the magic of Disney through their eyes. My heart aches w/o them… yadda, yadda, yadda… but their time w/ their dad is so important… blah, blah, blah…. And, so, as I soldier on, I’m learning that I must carry on & live my journey in the best way I know & do things for me because, in doing things for me, I am doing things for my beautiful children as they will see a woman not tied down by society’s expectations but free to live her own authentic life. I’m being an example.”
I mean, the pics of her w/ her arms thrown up in victory says it all… for her, this race was some kind of untamed, free, #warriorgirl moment…
Look what she did, world! This girl is on fire, y’all! She’s climbing every mountain & racing every race. She’s on her own & she’s winning at life! She’s achieving things she never dreamed possible back in her caged life. She’s finally freeeeee!!!! And, this life, after all, is just magic. #sarcasm
But why she thought the Chicago theatre posts were going to cover her tracks, I’ll never know. In a social media history of stupid moves, the Chicago theatre posts to prove she wasn’t in Disney may have been her most stupid move yet.
