Funny, is this the same garland as last year? Last year she clearly wasn’t into decorating and wanted to ease her way into the new house. She said she would try something new on the staircase this year as this was garland from the old house.

Also, anyone else decorating? I went to Target today and couldn’t decide it was ransacked already or shipments haven’t come in. I feel like Nov 10 is not that late to be shopping for Xmas items? I mean are we just pushing poor thanksgiving out the door now?

I’m about to have a parkinglotmeltdownlikejen because I have a 3 month old and a toddler and Christmas feels like it’s next week because everyone is overreacting and doing “all the things” so early this year - I can’t keep up and decorating (and undecorating) is already stressing me out.😩😆

I guess the kids heard mom went to Disney without them so she’s looking for a distraction for them…

CC after Don dropped her off at Jen’s house upon her return from her clandestine trip to Disney:

Guess what, Mommy? We put up the Christmas tree at Daddy’s this weekend!! And Tensleigh let me hang ornaments!

(EDITED TO ADD - Because, honestly, I could see this scenario. Tensleigh (& Don) decides to do something fun w/ the kids during their weekend since Jen was at Disney. And, depending on the custody arrangement, it could be 2 weeks until they have them for the weekend again… so Tensleigh decides to go ahead & do the Christmas decorating while all 5 kids are together.)

We’ve decorated indoors. We are waiting a bit longer to put up anything outside. I’m still not certain how much I want to do. I need to go through what we have and figure it out.

My boss and I also decorated our office this week.

Just say “fuck it! I’m not doing it”… and then go to Disney (preferably without your kids 😜).

I got some stuff at target and it was well stocked with Christmas stuff. I got a cute tree at the thrift and some vintage decorations and that spun me into a vintage themed tree that needed some tinsel garland at target. I think I’ll start this weekend. I saw a bunch of houses with their Christmas lights up and on tonight. It’s crazy!

I’m glad Jen is decorating this year.

LIke Jen in her former life, I have 3 categories of seasonal fall decorations:

    1. General Fall
    2. Halloween Specific
    3. Thanksgiving Specific

Sometime between the 1st day of fall & October 1st, I’ll put out the General Fall & Halloween Specific decorations, &, on 11/1, I’ll trade out the Halloween Specific for the Thanksgiving Specific decorations.

I think of Thanksgiving as a fall holiday, & I’m not a huge fan of the way we rush the Christmas season so that Thanksgiving gets lost between Halloween & Christmas. But, hey, whatever anyone wants to do…

But, that said, I agree… everyone rushing around for Christmas as soon as Halloween is over & buying everything & decorating everything does make my anxiety ramp up. It’s like I’m already behind, & it’s not even December yet!

I did order a new tree for our foyer, & it’s supposed to arrive tomorrow. So, I’ll probably go ahead & put it up tomorrow after it arrives. It’s pre-lit, so, while I won’t decorate it, the lights will be pretty.

She probably decorated before she went to Disney.
And I will go on a limb and assume the kids will be with Don for Thanksgiving.

Right...I'm Jen. A narcissistic mother like my mom. I can see my hidden identity has been revealed 🙄 Notice I don't call any bakers names or accuse them of anything?

I don't think that the Baker really thinks you are Jen, but your projection of your own issues onto the Jen/Don relationship and your hatred for him, come across loud and clear. You may not even realize it, but you have been manipulated by Jen, too. ANYONE who can watch these stories, pretending to be in Chicago when she is at Disney, and feel any sympathy for her whatsoever has been manipulated.

And this latest lie isn't an isolated incident. She has repeatedly lied. She traveled last December and pretended to be at home. She lied about not moving when she had already bought a house, going so far as to story outside of her old house.

You got exactly what I was going for, Yetta!!!

I got to hand it to Jen, she still manages to play the victim and garner sympathy from strangers, even though she's the master manipulator!!!

You won't find me feeling sorry for her any time soon. The only ones I feel really sorry for are CC and Donny, they didn't ask for any of this!!! Hopefully, they'll have a somewhat nice childhood, as long as they don't spend too much time with obnoxious Jen!

Mr. Dominant Junk and I own Airbnbs. We always ask our Thanksgiving guests if they’d prefer that we keep the fall stuff out, or if they want us to Christmas-ify.

Only one wanted Christmas, so I’ve got a good delay before I have to go whole hog. We have season/holiday specific decor but that’s because this is a business and the holidays are high season for us.

The Sunday after Thanksgiving, everyone checks out, and I spend the next three days making Christmas throw up. 22 trees plus all the wreaths, garlands, exterior decor, Christmas themed throw blankets and pillows. We shrink wrapped five of the trees last year post-Christmas, so it’ll be a surprise to see how they’ve survived.

Christmas doesn’t go up in my house until rental properties are done, but it also doesn’t come down until mid- to late January because I’m too tired!

I think it would be a fun adventure to have an AirBnB but I'm sure I'm romanticizing it a bit.

Don't stress! Keep it simple! I do feel like people are trying to get everything done early this year. I get shopping early (says the girl who went to the mall for 3 hours today and came out empty handed and depressed) but the decorating has got me :cant-believe-my-eyes-smiley-emo
