I will never understand this irrational fear of National Parks on this board in general. The trails are made by the US government. there are park rangers. They block off trails that have dangerous wildlife sightings or warnings due to bad conditions. there are lots of visitors hiking along the public trails. There are trail cams. You are never really alone. Unless you choose to veer off the trail or camp in the back country. Thats when you can get in trouble. Walking along a flat desert trail in a National Park such as Joshua Tree is no more dangerous than walking along a city street. The National Parks are created for us. They don't want to kill us.

I'm going to push back because this attitude is exactly what gets people in trouble.

    For example:
    SPOILER (click to view)
Bill Ewasko was an experienced hiker who died in Joshua Tree about a mile from help. It's theorized he got off track due to inaccurate maps and poorly-marked trails. Volunteers actively searched for him for a decade; his remains were only found by accident by a group of backpackers positioning for a better view of the sunset.
See: https://www.reddit.com/r/UnresolvedMysteri...ree_because_of/ (Notice the first comment from a local telling people not to underestimate the desert.)

These friends died by murder-suicide after she injured herself and they ran out of food and water.

Outside Joshua Tree, this family died on an "easy" hike when they didn't bring enough water and temperatures rose unexpectedly high.

The great outdoors always deserves a healthy level of fear and respect--especially terrain like the desert. Jen is a great example of someone who takes undue risks because of her naiveté. She's setting a terrible example for her viewers.

The number of hikers who go missing in Joshua Tree is huge. The desert is unforgiving. I wouldn't hike there alone.

Seriously. Imagine if Jen took all the money she spends on airbnbs and put it towards decorating her house. It would be amazing.

It would be far more sensible, safe and cost effective to hire a car when she travels to Airbnbs, but of course she bought the 4runner to a) spend money on a huge car and b) spend money on all the accessories for it and c) spend money on camping stuff to fill it with. All roads lead to shopping with Jen... everything is an excuse to spend money, hoard, and then make content from it. If she just hired a car each time she wouldn't be able to hoard. It's like the lockers that she has... they are just multiple hoard locations across the country.

Which all stems from depression right ?? When I'm sad I'm called to shop low key so she must be really truly depressed

That, and narcissists are the ideal consumers. Always buying something in the quest to make their fantasy selves reality. And spending money is a guaranteed route to feeling superior (hellooooooo concierge level).

“We were able to order hot breakfasts and dinners from the main restaurants and eat in our room. I enjoyed this benefit the most because I didn’t enjoy having to share a table with another family. We did this most nights.”

    This. This right here.

There’s your trip recap Jen, no need to film one.

Though I would add one about priority disembarking and how great it was for them in this season of life with two little kids and only one solo adult and if you can swing it you definitely should go for it. She can’t imagine cruising another way now.

Exactly! A spirit jersey is what you buy when you’re at the shore and it’s unexpectedly cold in the evening. Then back at school, you throw it on when you’re hungover and stumbling to the dining hall.

And you get rid of it when you graduate and get a job and are ready to grow up.

The spirit jersey is hanging on for dear life around her hips. She’s not going to be able to wear her “collection” for much longer.

Little lie of omission saying "I don't know how I got the price I did for this trip, but you know what? We're just gonna go with it." For a family stateroom with veranda, the price for three people is over $12,000.00. If she got the one bedroom suite, it is over $15,000. Disney doesn't do discounts on Concierge level. Maybe she got 10% for booking while on one of her other cruises.

So relatable Jen, single mom of two sailing concierge on Disney.

She DID book a cruise while they were on the Alaska cruise!

10% off something she paid extra for. So smug worthy.

I can think of a million things I'd rather do with $15k.

Just an aside while watching the video. Why is there that short wall behind her (kitchen/dining room/hallway? Must be load-bearing because there's not reason for it to be there.

Do you mean that little piece of wall just hanging out behind her as she's monologuing in the beginning? There used to be a wall/door between the kitchen and dining room. The flippers removed it. At least they didn't remove a load-bearing wall, I guess.
