| She hasn’t “grown” one bit if she is avoiding comments/“judgment” about what she eats by not showing it or talking about it. If she had grown a backbone or felt more self-assured, she would not be affected by judgmental or snarky comments about what she eats or about anything else. She is still a slave to her chronic low self-esteem no matter what books she reads, “therapy”, mindset adjustments, etc. plus as others have said, she likes the attention. Imagine being in a country essentially known for its food and not talking about it, sampling/savoring it, etc.?
She’s an impossible mess. I’m so happy for Don that he escaped living with this damaged individual. I continue to worry about the negative effects on Charlotte and Donny from their exposure to her and her neuroses, however limited at times they seem to be. Even when they are in the same house with her, she sequesters them out of her sight so she can focus on and cater only to herself.

I don’t think so. She would never be excited about planning (enduring) a trip with her kids. That outing to Conestoga near Bear Lake was because she took herself to Utah while the kids were there and she wanted everyone at the log prison to know that she, too, was in Utah. She had no reason under the sun to be there. The kids wouldn’t suddenly “need” her nearby especially with ALL the Rosses there with whom they were actually living. She picked them up, drove to Bear Lake and spent a couple of days there with them, then dropped them back off with Don and his family and flew home. The fact she didn’t talk about any of that was because she didn’t want to reveal she’s been shut out of her “heart hone” for good. |

| So much good marriage advice - I’d add always communicate and feel confident in doing so. When you ( or he) is upset about something, talk about it - don’t sulk and manipulate by silence (“what’s wrong.” “Nothing”, etc.) Listen to the other person rather than jumping right in to defend yourself or your agenda. Be respectful of his/her points of view. No one needs to be “right” or “wrong”. Have fun and share with each other but also respect boundaries when indicated and in that way you will always come back together as true partners.

What in the hell was so “challenging” this summer?? Get the fuck over it Jen - the divorce you “wanted” is long over and Don and the Rosses have moved on. Maybe that’s the challenge - she simply cannot believe she’s been left at the curb and replaced in all of their eyes. |
