We just went to Sam’s and did a huge Walmart stock up last week
    In our fridge
Fairlife 0% milk, sugar free French vanilla coffee creamer, Brita water pitcher, coffee (which is leftover from when we run a pot in the morning so I can make an ice coffee if I want one in the afternoon), Coke Zero and an emergency can of watermelon monster.
A pack of ultra thin cheese slices for burgers, yeast, better than bouillon both chicken and beef, unsalted butter, pepperoni, entirely too much low fat string cheese because it’s an easy and fast protein source for only 45 calories with 7 grams protein and half a brick of Colby Jack cheese
Apples, cotton candy grapes, raspberries, blueberries and bell peppers
Eggs banana peppers low calorie salad dressing and ketchup
An absolute ton of the light and fit greek yogurt which is our sons favorite snack and gets used for smoothies. Only 80 calories with 13 grams of protein.

Our freezer is equally boring containing probably 20 packages of frozen veggies, ground beef, boneless skinless thighs, chicken tenderloins, turkey sausages, burger Patties with buns, frozen mixed fruit and frozen bananas for smoothies and 2 bags of chicken nuggets

I doubt anyone in that house showers very often. We hardly ever see her buying any sort of body wash and especially with how large they all are she should need a new bottle every 4-6 weeks. Same goes for toothpaste and shampoo.

The pants she bought were a 3x so I looked online and a 3x is staggering 50 inch waist. That must be why she wears her pants down at her hip bones because the largest size at maurices(24w) only has a 47 inch waist.
Now I am considered overweight with a BMI of 30. My pants have a 30 inch waist. Her circumference is almost DOUBLE mine something my brain can’t even process.

On the pants she said are a smaller size it’s more likely they are just a different rise/brand/style and not actually a smaller size. Pant sizing for women varies significantly brand to brand and even style to style.
My favorite skinny jeans are American eagle mid rise. I wear a size 10 in them not jumping up and down required I can get an 8 on but they aren’t comfortable.
I went to old navy to try on jeans and tried on the high rise rockstar and a pair of mid rise flares . I needed a 12 in the mid rise flares and a 14! In the rockstar.
I go to Maurice’s (not my favorite store but I needed dress slacks for an interview in a short length and had looked everywhere else close by) while there I decided to try on the mid rise classic flare and fit extremely comfortably into a 8 probably could have also gotten a 6 on and buttoned.
Darlene also seems to wear her pants under her stomach right at the hip bones like low rise jeans from the 90s/ early 2000s personally I don’t find that even remotely comfortable but I assume it is because she can not find pants to fit her at the belly button.

The whole keeping a cat locked in individual rooms is the strangest freaking thing I’ve ever seen. Also who the hell adds not one but two pets to the household right before taking a multi week trip.

Also keep adding more pets to the house when you don’t properly care for the ones you already have. When was the last time the older dog or Polly went to the vet? When was the last time either dog was walked?

Considering I’m over here with a 34B, color me a tad envious

I disagree. I'm a 38F. The boobs are always greener on the other side!

If Darlene's down a pants size in one month, she should be quite slender by fall, right? A size a month - and there are fewer lbs to a size after certain points - and she'll be down a good 150lbs or more in a mere 7 months or so! People who've had weight loss surgery and eat 800 calories a day - not 1000 calories just at dinner! - don't even have such *unbelievable* success!

I agree you always want the bra size you don’t have. I had an A cup until I had my son. A 36DD now and I miss my small chest. The damn things are heavy and always in the way.

Y’all have convinced me to read flowers in the attic. I’ve watched all of the VC andrews lifetime adaptations. Fully into some smutty trash with toxic relationships.

Is it just me but Starbucks not as good as they use to be as making drinks and customer service? Thank you

As someone who used to go to Starbucks way more often than I carried to admit it’s not just you. The last few times we’ve gone it’s been nowhere near as good. The coffee has been bitter and I believe they changed their syrup formulas as it now makes me nauseous and gives me a migraine. Plus the price has gotten out of control. $7.50 for a venti iced latte with 2 pumps cinnamon dolce and 2 pumps vanilla and oat milk. Plus they are now charging for light ice. I can go to a local independent owned coffee shop and get a large latte for $5 and they make their own organic syrups and don’t charge extra for oat milk.

Flowers in The Attic and all the early VC Andrews books are my guilty pleasure. I remember getting them from the library in elementary school. Those books shocked my little 6th-grade brain. :in-disbelief-smiley-emoticon:

Is flowers in the attic worth the read? I absolutely loved the lifetime channel movie if that makes a difference.

Well, that's good news. I miss Fiddy.

I noticed Nicole Burgess doesn't get much talk on here. Why is that? I haven't watched her videos since she went all the way down the keto rabbit hole.

I think because she shares less of her life. The only things to snark on are her obsessive eating habits, terrible exercise form and middle school vocabulary

My husbands flag is in a case on a shelf in my living room, no way is it going to be hidden in a closet.

That’s where ours were always kept. Just so disrespectful in every way. She’s so self
    Centered.

We have a gallery wall in our hallway dedicated to my husbands military service. Flag, different awards he got, gifts from different commands when we left, coins he collected. I even made a couple shadow boxes with different parts of his uniform when he got out.

Is this a Walmart service center?? Do the wealthy lemons service their cars at Walmart???

    Screenshot_20230424-234451

To me that actually looks like carmax not a Walmart center. It’s not an actual dealership because they likely would have given him a loaner if the service was going to take more than an hour or two.

Has anyone read The Lost Girls of Willowbrook? I finished it this morning after hearing about it on a few YouTube channels. It was pretty good but read a little YA in my opinion.

I’m excited for Karin Slaughter’s new book to come out in August.

I just finished The Lost Girls of Willowbrook last week. I agree with you on the writing. There was something off about it, but I finished the book quickly because I wanted to see what happened. The story was very interesting though and so sad that it's based loosely on true events. I can't imagine what residents who lived in those places had to go through.

I'm reading The Housemaid's Secret right now and it's starting much more slowly than The Housemaid. I hope it picks up soon because it's boring me a little.

How did you feel about ACOTAR? It's been on my list for a while and I've heard so much about it, but I don't think it's on Kindle Unlimited and I don't want to buy any more books right now. I need to get to the library but I have so many books to read already.

I didn’t like the housemaids secret as much as the first book. It just felt disingenuous and thrown together. Didn’t have the heart and character development that the housemaid did.

I swore up and down that I would not read ACOTAR because of how hyped it is but
My bestie sent me the first book so I finally caved figuring I would hate it and that would be that. I did not hate it at all and forced my husband to drive me to Barnes and noble the next day to buy the rest of the books. Both a court of thorns and roses and a court of wings and ruins were solid 5 stars with book 2 a court of mist and fury being a 4.75. It took me less than 2 weeks to read the first 3 books. I’m glad I purchased them after discovering I loved the first book because our local libraries estimated wait for any of the books in the series is about 9 months. 90% of my discretionary funds go to books and tattoos.

I’m currently reading Vera wongs unsolicited advice for murderers and having a fantastic time with it. I’m a little over halfway done and just loving all of the characters so far.
I needed a good cozy mystery palette cleanser after binging the first 3 ACOTAR books.
I need help selecting my next read before finishing the last 2 ACOTAR books.
    My options are
    1. The house in the cerulean sea by TJ Klune
    2. Hidden pictures by Jason rekulak
    3. We sold our souls by Grady Hendrix
    4. The soulmate by sally hepworth

What impromptu appointment in the city required all three of them to drive to? Question who's taking care of the dogs aka feds, walks and takes them outside to use the potty when everyone is in the city for who knows how many hours?

Not only an impromptu appointment but one on a weekend no less that required Darlene doing her least favorite thing and that is bringing Andrew along with her.

I agree about the dogs whenever we plan on being gone for more than 4 or 5 hours our pup goes to daycare.

I do wonder if that sickness she referred to during her absence was more serious than she will admit. There seems to be a lot of external pressure coming from Steve to do better when it comes to food and exercise.

Omg ! I need to go watch Bryce !!
And yes I have always wondered when Buefords spa day is 🙄.
The whole “ spa “ day thing is so dumb anyway -as if it’s a special event for only the precious younger dog .
I don’t remember the other older dog having a spa day either ?
Yes I take my 12 year old , 8 year old and 3 year old dogs to the boring groomer every 6 weeks .
Every age of dog needs a “ spa “ day by owner or professional . 🙄
It’s called taking proper care of your pets !!!
    She is ridiculous !

Another thing that kills me with her is always letting us know about the kids chores !
They must have a whole homeschool subject on cleaning !
    🙄
And the always showing their stupid lunches on paper plates … always with so many fruit and vegetable choices …
And yesterday I was shocked - well not really but no way would I give my kid two baby bel cheeses at a meal 🤣
I’m sure Bryce enjoys them - but damn they are expensive and unnecessary . They are a one per person in lunch type of cheese . 😆

Same on the groomer our pup gets groomed every 6-8 weeks. Not at a pet smart either but by a lovely woman who does groomings to contribute to her household. Even our cats go to a groomer every 3ish months to have their nails trimmed and ears cleaned.

Plus all 4 get regular veterinary care. Our 12 year old son takes his soul cat and it’s the cutest thing I’ve ever witnessed watching him talk to the vet about all the care options available and taking care of her at the appointment and afterwards. We obviously go too and are there if he doesn’t know an answer to a question but for the most part he handles it.
