I don’t think Don will ever wish he would have stayed with her, he is done.

I can’t think of a single reason why he would. 🤷‍♀️

The only reason I can think of would be money. But Don can always make more money, the payoff to Jen was/is probably insignificant to him and has an end date. If he weren’t in the 1%, setting up house with a new wife while paying off the ex could be stressful. I wonder how Tens feels about it…

No, I don't think she will go out and stay there. I think she might fly out with them, MAYBE stay one night at the log prison, but then she will go rent her van and will vanlife it while the kids are there with Don & Tens.

Knowing her, she’ll try to van life in Southern Utah again in August and die. The desert doesn’t play.

We were there in October and November and it was absolutely amazing, perfect weather. I cannot imagine her trying to Vanlife Zion or Moab in the summer! It’s also a crowded mad house right now and all summer, according to some of the RV families I follow who are there.

Blended families are tough.Good luck to them My friend married a man with two daughters, she had two sons and one daughter. They had another son together. It was a disaster and they split.

Why was it a disaster? İt could be so much fun, ready-made siblings is my idea of a great thing.

A family member got married for the second time, second marriages for both of them. The children were 5, 6 & 7 (5&7 biologically related) when they married. It was very difficult for them to assimilate as a family at first, especially since at the time of the marriage, all of the children were living primarily with their other families. It was hard to watch. They all were in counseling from the beginning. The kids noticed favoritism among them and their respective parents. Fast forward to the preteen/early teen years and only the oldest lives with them now. The other two took dramatic measures to live with their other parents/grandparent. Blended families sometimes work but more often, there are issues and it’s very hard on everyone. I hope things work well for Don & T once the honeymoon phase is over.

I can't believe with the means she had she never took the kids to see Grandma Betty. Oh wait, actually, I can.

I'm in my mid 30s but I've never met any of my grandparents, let alone great-grandparents. My maternal grandfather was born in 1898, which is wild to me. He died in the 1950s when my mum was 17. Her mother had her aged 41 and died when she was 4. I don't know anything about my father's side of the family. My mum had me at 43 and now I'm in panic mode to try to have a kid before the worst happens.

I grew up with the idea that it's totally fine to have kids in your late 30s/early 40s as that's what I'm used to, but the older I get, I'm starting to think it's nicer to have kids young to allow the generations to bond. If I'm successful in having children, I will be encouraging them to settle down and have children at least by their late 20s.

I was 34 when I got pregnant with my daughter. I had a full 8 year long career and was very secure financially and in my relationship. We decided that we are one and done, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. My grandmothers both passed away when I was a teen/early 20s and I didn’t have any grandfathers. I can totally see that having great-grandparents is a rare situation that not all kids have. But, if I had a kid in my 20s, it would have been a disaster (like jen?)

I don’t know recent conversation here because I have to catch up, but I was watching her old Vlogs she still has up. I began to think, it’s so sad that their marriage broke up. I think we can all relate and say (from our own experience) that marriage is hard. I don’t know how many times I have considered divorce and as of right now, I am happy that we chose to stick it out. They have so much to be thankful for. Their two beautiful children, their health and wealth and chose to give it up to go live it with a stranger, basically. It’s true, I don’t know the dark times they’ve experienced and I also know my very dark times with my husband in our marriage and I really had a hard time seeing the light at the end of the tunnel but alas we now have light and it’s so sad to me that they couldn’t wait and try. In her prime when she first started she seemed very sweet, kind, thoughtful, loving and very appreciative. I just feel really bad for a human, wife and mother standpoint.

Probably the closest I’ll get to...

My mom is meeting her grandchild (my niece) for the first time this month, too. I haven't had a grandparent since I was six years old, so Jen skipping out on time with grandma makes me :hi-computer-smiley-emoticon: (clearly this only applies if your grandma isn't a toxic person, and we know that Betty was a way better grandma than Jen deserved.)

Tbh this trip is going to be a challenge. She is not even TWO! yet and it‘s only going to be her and I. My bf currently isnt allowed to enter the US due to Covid regulations and I don’t think I will be able to handle TWO! young kids on an international flight so I can’t take my son with me either 🥺 Wish we could all go together. It feels a little spooky that I had this strong urge to go see my grandma shortly before we got the news about Grandma Betty.

Traveling with an almost TWO! Year old is not joke! We had multiple epic meltdowns yesterday, complete with her throwing herself on the sidewalk and flailing. We are in Yellowstone now and I suspect there will be lots of “iPad in the truck” time today! You’ll have fond memories of your trip to see your grandma and it will be worth it! (Even though toddlers are assholes)

They are doing a story right now on the Today show about how crowded the National State Parks are- people waiting for hours in their cars just to get turned away because parking is full. They said it will be like that all summer, so if Jen wants to go van living, she had better plan ahead.

Yep, I have had Yellowstone reservations for 6 months. We are here now, left the RV park at 6am, no small feat with a 2 year old, currently stuck in traffic on our way to Old Faithful, it will be packed by 9am, I’m sure. A couple days ago, our neighbors at the RV park waited at a full stop for an hour for a herd of Buffalo that wouldn’t get off the road! We packed lots of snacks, water, walking pharmacy, so we are good.

Since Jen seems to like a little Taylor Swift…

    Jen - “Blank Space”

Don - “We Are Never, Ever Getting Back Together”

    Tensleigh - “Lover”

    Or…

Jen - “I’m a Bitch” by Meredith Brooks

Don - “Somewhere on a Beach” by Dierks Bentley

    Lyrics -

“Bet you think I'm sitting at home, no
Bet you think that I'm all alone, no
Bet you think I'm missing you and wishing you would call my phone
    Hell, no
I went wheels up on a runway
And that ticket was a long way
    I'm somewhere on a beach
    Sipping something strong
Got a new girl, she got it going on
We drink all day, and party all night
I'm way too gone to have you on my mind
She got a body and she's naughty
And she got me like you ain't never got me
I'm getting sun, getting some, and I ain't slept in a week
Yeah, I'm somewhere on a beach
Heard you called my boys heard you called my folks
They said you drove by my house real slow
You can check any spot, roll down every road
But girl, I ain't even close
I'm somewhere on a beach sipping something strong,
Got a new girl, she got it going on
We drink all day, and party all night
I'm way too gone to have you on my mind
She got a body and she's naughty
And she got me like you ain't never got me
I'm getting sun, getting some, and I ain't slept in a week
    Yeah, I'm somewhere on a beach…”

You win! The second ones, I never realized how accurate that Meredith brooks song is for her!

That’s because ungrateful Jen, who always got what she wanted without even trying, thought she could get rid of the inconvenience of being married to Don but keep all the perks associated with him. But life and reality eventually caught up to Jen. No one gets as lucky as she has all the time, without working hard on keeping their luck. Jen didn’t work on it at all. She thought she can sit back all her life and Lady Luck would keep throwing herself at Jen just because it’s Jen.

No wonder the moron is a mess now. She has zero coping mechanisms for any adult problems (real adult problems not Jen defined problems).

It’s super weird that all of the adults in both families were okay with Jen being a stay at home wife right out of the gate. It stunted her maturity and development as an adult for sure. Did Emily ever work?

Nah, I don’t think they cared. I think they expected her to procreate sooner though and she just delayed on purpose because she wanted to live her pampered life. Not sure if Emily ever worked, but she does volunteer quite a bit!

I feel called to share that my husband came home from running errands the other day and had saved me half of his mini hashbrowns. He doesn’t know I read here but I had to fight the urge that he was trolling me.

We are traveling and I just laughed so hard at that, Mr Seemingly Sweet wanted to know so I just had to explain the Ross Hashbrown Debacle which then led me to explain the Paella incident. 😆

I was reading about how people who lost jobs and housing during the pandemic have been turning to vans as a cheaper option of living, but the vans are all getting bought up by rich people who want to travel and post it online. Reminded me of Jen lol

Not only that but the RV industry is backlogged, partly due to covid shut downs and then raw material shortages. They can’t turn them out fast enough right now and prices are at an all time high! (trucks too) People also chose to sell houses high and travel while they work from the road because covid made that possible. That’s our situation. My husband is a senior software engineer, we sold our house at the top of the market and are now traveling full time, we will build a house when we are ready. It’s a choice, not a necessity for many of the families we’ve met along the way.

    QUOTE (VeganGingerbread @ 11/6/2021, 21:22)
She would be much smarter to just rent a van whenever she travels. For one thing, it gives much more flexibility and reach. If she owns the van, she can only travel a loop from IL that's manageable within a couple of kid-free weeks. If she rents, she can rent from any point that she can fly to reach.

Also, the maintenance on those vans is no joke. I just can't picture Jen doing the dirty work. She'll be better off to rent a newly-serviced van and drop it off dirty for someone else to deal with.

That would make logical/financial sense but we are talking about Jen here! She always has to spend the most money and go all out on all her hobbies to drop them almost immediately after acquiring the supplies. Also, the most popular Vanlifer influencers do not rent, part of the appeal is sharing about the build, etc.

    QUOTE (TheHairyChild @ 11/6/2021, 20:51)
“They” rented one. But I doubt she put in a penny. And traveling in a giant RV with your kids, in-laws, and ex, is hardly the van-life thing that she seemed to be going for.

Also, I feel like for a lot of people/families who have worked for their money, and aren’t like in the list of Forbes wealthiest people….part of the reason they have money is that they don’t spend extravagantly. I mean….even Warren Buffet reportedly drives a regular car and lives in a regular house. And he is donating most of his wealth.

It just annoyed me that she framed that video of the Utah trip as a “travel vlog” and then eluded to wanting to RV travel in the future, even with the kids. Then a couple months later buys the “With wonder” domain, then officially rebrands and now zero content.
  13. .
I’m just salty because I have encountered far too many people with RV rentals doing idiotic things with them and sometimes even doing downright dangerous things without a clue. I can only imagine some of the things we’d see Jen do if it actually became the bulk of her content.

    QUOTE (TheHairyChild @ 11/6/2021, 20:47)
But she only rented one, right? And also, with the custody arraignment….it’s not like she would be able to use one that often.

They also rented one for the quarantine Utah trip. For people who have money, why didn’t they charter a private plane?

Agree that she won’t be able to use it often, however, she rebranded her content to be focused on RV travel yet she doesn’t have a Van...

    QUOTE (TheHairyChild @ 11/6/2021, 20:11)
I too think she is done. She started getting a lot more criticism. Also, she cut down posting and videoing A LOT. Even before this latest hiatus. I wouldn’t be surprised if part of the reason she kept it up so much before is that it made her look productive. (Plus all the headpats. And also, she was good at the reviews, and favorites, and hauls and all that.) But now she has nobody that she feels she needs to look productive for. She basically lives alone so she can be as big of a sloth as she feels like.

    Regarding bags:
The big Longchamp tote is fantastic for traveling. Like others have said, it’s wonderful to fold up and pack in your suitcase, and then use it when you get to your destination, or if you want to bring back more home than you left with. They are durable, light, packable, zip shut, keep your stuff dry, and reasonably affordable. Mine is in a dark eggplants/plum color.

Also, that navy laptop bag with the reddish-orange accents is about the most stylish laptop bag I’ve seen.

Lo & Sons. I bought the Weekender bag and the Rowledge backpack during the pandemic and a huge discount. I haven’t had much use for them with the staying in my house bit…but they seem quite nice.

Also during the pandemic I bought my first hard suitcase. And my first that has wheels that rotate so it is more manouverable. I got it from Away. It’s this really pretty Kelly green. I used it on my road trip and I really like it. I think it will be nice to fly with too, because it will be supereasy to pick out on the luggage carousel. I got that for a large discount as well.

Also: Why would Don and Tens need to get married in order to buy a house together?
And two: I’m in the camp that Jen is financially set for life.

Tax write off and other advantages. Also if I am getting married to dondondaddysteak you know my name has got to be on that deed. I am not letting my slice of the pie being slipped from under my nose.

We bought our first house together before we were married and my maiden name was on the deed. It only caused confusion when we were selling that house last year, but it was ultimately a non-issue.

    QUOTE (TheHairyChild @ 11/6/2021, 20:30)
And still think she is set for life. She’s not spending *that* much. She’s buying a bunch of crap she doesn’t need. She’s not buying top of the line anything. She doesn’t have a mansion, let alone multiple. She doesn’t have a private jet or yacht. She doesn’t have an outrageously expensive car. From what I can tell she is living an upperclass life with little to no financial worries. *shrug*

People are saying her house is paid for. If she was that concerned about money, she wouldn’t have paid cash for that house. Interest rates are soooo low.

I’m waiting to see if a $200k Sprinter Camper Van shows up in the driveway of the mausoleum. I was skeptical when there were TWO separate instances of renting RVs now. If she was really set financially, I think she would have bought her Heart Van already and then would have had something to share with wonder.

This is peak RV travel season and she’s clearly home alone, filming her geriatric dog and leaning into a pint of dairy free phish food :confused-face-smiley-emoticon:
