| As a former special Ed teacher, I suspect Arjan may have some sensory issues as exhibited by walking on his toes and insisting on wearing shorter pants. OT could certainly help. Sensory issues don't necessarily mean he is on the autism spectrum but it also doesn't mean he isn't. A trained professional is the only person who can diagnose as we all know. My son almost didn't qualify and trust me! He's on the spectrum! Arjan? Who the hell knows!
And I have always said Bali is at fault for the neglect just as much as Kate. There's no excuse for kids to be deprived of their basic needs such as education and health care. |

| My upcoming 3rd grader can read. He's about Sam's age. He hasn't been reading chapter books independently but he's on grade level at least.
Kate should be ashamed of herself for not giving her son the intervention he needs. Plus getting his eye fixed. |

| I looked at one of their videos and her teeth are pristinely white for the top 4-6 but the side teeth were darker, smaller, and more set back.
They don't match her actual teeth at all! It's unsettling to see such a mish mosh of teeth on someone so young. |

| I agree with you all! I think this is the first time she truly has NO choice when it comes to cutting back. She's glorified an austere lifestyle for so long but never truly did it.
She always fell off the wagon when she scratch cooked for like 3 days in a row and needed a "break." She probably can't afford her frozen junk food and can't do a huge grocery haul right now, so she's feeling deflated.
Her piss poor money management has finally caught up to her and she's suffering. Well, suffering in her opinion because we all know she thinks she deserves a much more lavish lifestyle.
I watch a few homesteaders and they truly work from sun up to sundown. They don't lay around and read inane books and ponder life. They live life! They sweat in the heat as they harvest and freeze in the winter feeding and caring for their animals.
Kate is never going to be a homesteader or even a successful gardener because she's too damn lazy. All she can grow is weeds.
I wonder if she has finally realized she can't hide her sham life anymore. |

BakeryYenta, she does look sad. I'm thinking her depression will all be a distant memory once she is in an upcycle and manically making grocery/thrift hauls. |

Yep. That's what I think of every time I start to feel sorry for Kate.
Maybe she's mentally ill. Many people are, but many people have a conscience.
