I have no doubt she’d have faced social pressures to have children. That’s so common. Especially with Emily already having them. But it was entirely within her power to grow a spine and say I’m not having any. Bringing a child into a relationship where one person clearly doesn’t want them makes three people unhappy. |

| Jen is not solo traveler material. To enjoy solo travel you have to be willing to talk to people, sometimes in their language, even if badly (I speak from experience) and accepting some people will want to hang out/have patience for you butchering their language and others won’t. You can’t take it personal, you’re a complete stranger not everyone is comfortable talking to people they don’t know!
Jen takes everything as a personal attack. The eternal victim. But also ##blessed, somehow. She’s clearly the type of person who sees a happy couple and resents them, instead of admiring their closeness. If all she’s thinking about at a restaurant is the fact she’s alone then she’s bound to be lonely.
To be honest it must be pretty hard hitting realising you’re no longer anyone’s priority. |
