if you google "high frequency trading scandal" you'll find articles from that time. add Poopsie's name to the end of that search and you'll find articles where he was interviewed
I think one of the reporters called Poopsie "The self declared spokesperson for HFT" ... or something like that. I thought that was older (like by a couple of years) then anything that Jen would have been concerned about ...
a lot of the articles that come up are from March/April 2014 and a little after. right around that time Jen was being overly dramatic saying things were going on but to protect her privacy yada yada
I'm sick today so I'm trying to take it easy and listen to my body so that I can have a good body scan tomorrow morning...anyway I'm watching some old vlogs of hers. I watched a few from when she was supposedly going through a hard time and she couldn't seem any less affected if she tried. she's chatting about her food, exercising, enjoying herself way too much because Don is out of town, squealing with delight because it's "Saturday night popcorn and Sherlock time!" etc etc. the only time she seemed perturbed was when she got some negative comments because people weren't liking the weekly vlogs. otherwise...same ole Jen. -

Oh, it totally would have affected her life. All the Ross men in the slammer, and Jen might have had to have gotten a job. But she mentioned a "loss," and she hadn't lost anything--there was only the potential for loss.. -

yes! she actually mentioned that in the vlog I just watched. she was like "people are complaining and saying that I only vlog 2 minutes a day...but it's more like 3 minutes a day"

Ok...Tell me if I have the timing wrong on this....But is it possible that the "poop hitting the fan" is when the polyps were discovered? Or maybe even just mentioned to her as a possibility, perhaps after a very very early miscarriage.
Perhaps she thought she was looking at a lifetime of infertility. And that was the "loss"
I'm thinking Jen would be most upset about something involving JEN. Even if Don went broke, she would just go home to her mom and dad and start over.. -

That's exactly what I thought it was too! The psychology, her actions, and phrasing fit perfectly. Unfortunately, it doesn't fit the timeline at all. According to Jen's I'm Pregnant video, she didn't even see a fertility doctor until late fall 2014, nearly six months after the "poop" video. The polyps were diagnosed a month after she saw the doctor (so 7 months after the poop video).. -

I think it could fit, unless I am missing something. Let's say she had a very early miscarriage. Maybe her regular OB said this happens, it's common, here are some causes (mentions polyps which are also relatively common), keep trying, let's see what happens. She tries for six more months into 2014, and then went to the fertility specialist.. -

Okay, fellow Bakery patrons, I’ve delved into some truly nausea-inducing classic Jen to complete the timeline. Along with making me want to head to Chicago, ring Jen’s doorbell, and vomit at her feet for posting such self-congratulatory, delusional garbage about her perceived busy bee-ness on the internet, a Utah-house ban is looking more and more unlikely. The mystery continues!
The poop video was posted March 2014; Jen states that the past 5-6 weeks have included her “losses” – so sometime between January and March 2014.
Fitting the timeline, it looks like her last solo visit was in October 2013. See the excerpt for her WIR post below so you can suffer with me under a generous heaping of smugness. Meow2, if you are already feeling ill, I recommend you turn away. Particularly revolting: “Have I mentioned how much I love being out at the family vacation home in Utah? This place is my heart home…Even if I am stuck at the computer all day, I can just look out the window at those glorious mountains and feel at peace…I think most people assume when I go out to Utah that I am on vacation, but in reality, I am just living out my daily life and to-dos in a different location. I spend just as much time working on videos and blog posts as I do at home.”
HOWEVER, in May 2014, two months after the poop video, Jen and Don were back at the Utah house alone, albeit it both of them. The way Jen is rhapsodizing it sounds very unlikely that she’s creeping back, this time with Don in tow, following a ban: “I so enjoy the privilege to stay at this beautiful house in this beautiful place! It truly is our home away from home and we are very comfortable living our daily lives whenever we are here.” Just for fun, please note she also claims that now that Don works from home, they are both working from home together (JEN! YOU DON’T HAVE A JOB!): “We don’t treat being in Utah as being on vacation, since we still keep up with our work and usual to-dos while we are here.”
In addition to the phrasing in her WIR post that sounds like no drama whasoever when it comes to her “heart home,” it makes sense they came out together, as Don now works from home so it would be particularly odd for her to make a solo trip (also they are aggressively TTC at this point). As for never going to Utah solo again, they were in Italy in September 2014, she starts seeing a real fertility doctor around the same time, she is diagnosed with polyps in December, has surgery in March, gets pregnant in April. According to her, the first trimester is full of scares, so it would be extremely surprising if anyone let her travel alone, even if she wanted to.

I spent the first few days of my trip out here with just Winnie as my companion. As much as I love my husband and dearly miss him when we are apart, I think a little distance every once in awhile is actually a very healthy thing for our relationship. Especially considering that we see each other a lot since we both currently work from home, it was nice to have a few solo days to just do my own thing (plus it made our reunion that much sweeter!).

We flew out to Utah on Monday for our annual spring visit at the family vacation home out here. I so enjoy the privilege to stay at this beautiful house in this beautiful place! It truly is our home away from home and we are very comfortable living our daily lives whenever we are here. Don has set up a work station in the big loftice (my funny word for an office in a loft) so that he can do his work just like he does at our home in Illinois. I also follow my usual daily schedule same as at home when we are in Utah. We appreciate the change of scenery, fresh mountain air, and a chance to be reunited with dear friends whenever we come to visit, which is typically once a season.
We don’t treat being in Utah as being on vacation, since we still keep up with our work and usual to-dos while we are here. That includes, for me, staying on track with the Tone It Up #BikiniSeries. I’m working towards my#150BySummer which translates to logging about 2.6 miles of cardio per day during the 8 weeks of the series. I’ve been running 15 miles a week and adding in an extra cardio circuit style workout 3-4 times per week. I was pretty proud of myself for reaching the 30-mile marker just one week into the series! I’m cruising along and will definitely reach my goal by the first day of summer. Exercising here in Utah at an altitude of 6,000 feet is quite different from at home in Illinois where we’re just 500 feet above sea level.. -

No smoking gun yet, but I think I’m leaning toward the two “losses” being: (1) some sort fallout from the HFT scandal (i.e., some sort of investigation into Poopsie’s companies) even though I am shocked the Ross attorneys didn’t put a lockdown on discussing it, even in the most obscure terms and (2) some sort of BS in her fertility journey (not a miscarriage, not the polyp diagnosis as it hadn’t happened yet, but some garbage from her acupuncturist that in Jen’s mind was a major event in her faux TTC struggle).*
*Please note that my snide comments about her "struggle" stem from the fact that she put herself and her husband through an unnecessary year of drama when she had an easily diagnosed and treatable condition, after which she literally conceived the next month...and then proceeded to set herself up as a martyr to the entire internet. It's an insult to all women who have been through truly awful, soul wrenching fertility struggles.

I think the scandal had something to do with the poop hitting the fan.
It could mean that they were being investigated and Jen turned it all around onto herself. I like to think that, maybe the government had a subpoena that covered all electronics in the Ross house and she had to turn over her computer(S) and drobo for it to be checked for illegal HFT activity. Or maybe the FBI came and searched their house because the Donald has an office there. I'm dreaming big here.. -

I'm leaning to #1 also. But what put Jen in hot water? She said no matter what she knows her family will love her and be there for her. I think she did something to upset the family. But months of being in hot water?
