Anyone else want to bitch about her? I liked her better during her pink/cupcake/leopard/porny looking phase (although I'm not a fan of pink, leopard print, or any cupcakes I can't actually eat). I'm irritated by her the image she's curated over the last couple of years. Her idea of boho is her fringe wristlet, everything off-white crochet, and large turquoise ring - how many times have we seen these items in her #boho hashtagged pics? I thought boho was supposed to be eclectic and "easy," but it's narrowly defined as beige, beige, beige, crystals, monotonous crochet, and fringe to Christine. And, yeah, we get it, you're vegan.

Lastly, what's up with the constant bikini shots on IG? What really stands out about those is that the majority of her pics feature only her body and not her face. Her head isn't in the picture, she's shot from behind or above, a hat or sunglasses obscure her face. I guess she's proud of her body but feels her face doesn't measure up. She's spoken of body acceptance, but I think she's full of crap because all the bikini pics point to her vanity. I think she has a hard time accepting her face - and there's nothing wrong with it, but I guess it's not bikini model quality.

Christine purged her giant makeup hoard and pink clothing for a hoard of beige clothing, white and "boho" decor (I love when the "unique" decor comes from Ross or Pier 1!), and crystals.

I haven't watched her in a long time. Is she still in Hawaii or did she move to the mainland? Are they still crammed in to that tiny cottage? Is she still obsessed with minimalism? I should probably watch a few of her videos and see what she's up to. :20130930101758-5e972761:

I watched her during the pink/leopard/cupcake era too. I was just thinking the other day that I should check in and see what she's like now.

She looks like she's trying to copy GypsyLovingLight, an Australian(I think) bohemian blogger.

Yep, Christine and Michael are still in Hawaii, living in the same tiny cottage for the last couple of years. She had talked about moving to the mainland and that was initially supposed to happen this summer, then this fall, and now next year - because, she says, her prepaid Invisalign dental treatments are not finished. In the meantime, she apparently grows and sells succulents and maybe makes a little jewelry, and he does home contracting stuff. They don't seem to do the swap meets anymore. Christine says they want to get more into crystals and gemstones when they move to Arizona - I guess buying and selling them. I have no idea what the profit potential is like in that business.

Christine's different now. She's too often more about curating an image and lifestyle than just a woman sharing her hobbies and interests that she used to be back in her makeup collecting days. She now has a video or two in which she gives financial advice, LOL. I think she suffers from some of the same issues many YTers have when they try to go from normal, average people to "professional businessperson" YTer. Although, I'm not sure what Christine's goal is since she posts YT videos only every two weeks or so. She's more focused on posting vanity bikini pics on her IG.

I just checked out that IG, and, yes, there definitely are similarities. This is just another social media personality who gave me major eyerolls - captioning bikini pictures with "learn acceptance and inner peace." LOL at people actively curating an image, posing, posing, posing, staging, filters, and Photoshopping while trying to be a positive thinking and acceptance guru to their followers! You can't tie deep, enlightening thoughts to bikini pics!

There's something off with her. She's one of the OG makeup hoarding gurus to me so it's still strange that she essentially is the Godmother of the Declutter video. Can't stand most of those. Whenever some bland, basic guru says "I'm going to pass this along", I cringe and think of Christine. I no longer follow her bc I can't relate. She's creepy to me. It's like she has no idea who she is and is constantly searching to reinvent herself. I also can't stand the way she talks and have never found her attractive. I bet she would hate me because I'm a makeup collector who wears a size large, lol. But I'm also a lifelong vegetarian and have been into crystals and rocks since I was about 7.

I only watched one or two when I was considering getting Invisalign and went down the rabbit hole, but wanted to comment and say I also love rocks lol. I collected them as a child through magazine subscriptions and any time I find myself at a natural history museum my husband has to drag me away from the rock section in the gift shop lol

I like crystals, rocks, and gemstones as well.

Christine seems to have an obsessive personality. When she collected makeup, she collected allll the makeup. When she liked hot pink, leopard print, and cupcake themed decor, everything was pink, leopard, or cupcake. Now that's she "boho/vegan/free spirit," everything is beige off-white, crochet, fringe, succulents, and crystals. Her identity does seem based on what she can buy to define herself - I mean, she has tops that say "free spirit" and "vegan" on them, lest anyone be confused. She's a plant-based vegan boho, dammit!! Her tastes may have changed, but I think her mindset is the same because she's defining herself by her possessions, and, once again, everything must match and fit her current view of herself. I consider identity more of an internal thing, but hers is more externally focused. She can't just be a certain way unless she has material things to "prove" who she is. She's still buying plenty of stuff, so I don't think she ever followed through on the minimalism thing. She couldn't possibly be a boho free spirit and kept anything pink, leopard, or cupcake. She has a very narrow view of what boho is. She picks something she likes and beats it to death. So I suspect she'll get sick of her current obsessions after a while, throw everything out, and start all over again with a new obsession.

Christine and her viewers think she's "evolved" because her tastes aren't as tacky as they used to be, but, as far as I can tell, she still has the same mindset.

God, Christine is such a cliche. Come to the Southwest, enchanted by desert and sunshine and "mystery." (There is nothing mysterious about the desert. It's just... Desert.) Think they will make it big selling shit that we, in this region are all sick of looking at and tourists can get anywhere and everywhere. They should stay put, do their swap meet/contractor/YouTube thing and be thankful that they can live a happy little life in paradise.

I've watched her since the original pink cupcake persona as well. I have a really hard time with how I feel about her. On the on the one hand, her obsessive extremes and her unhealthy obsession with food and her body are so frustrating. I finally unsubscribed after one too many preachy veganism mentions.

However, given her childhood, which was truly a horror show (take note whiny draw my life youtubers, this is the real deal), and her clear fears regarding her own inherited mental health, I think she's made a pretty impressive life for herself.

Yes! That video about her childhood and her mother's schizophrenia made me really feel for her. You could see the pain in her face talking about when the mom killed her bird. I can only imagine what it was like.

I've watched her from the beginning and her evolving fixations. She's an interesting character. But this vegan/bikini model phase is a big bore. I don't want to see her neutral everything, her flash tattoos or her long lanky body for that matter. The beach shots I can deal with because I live by the beach also, but Hawaii is beautiful. I thought she was absolutely nuts to want to go from the beach to the desert! I couldn't do it, that's for sure.

I also find it fascinating to watch people who are child free by choice. Seems so foreign to me - living your life to please only you and your husband.

I unsubscribed so long ago. Going to check out the Draw My Life. ******CAN SOMEONE LINK THIS VIDEO? I can't find it. Thanks! :)

I do agree that it's interesting to watch people who choose not to have kids. I've always wanted to be a Mother but I'm 30 and am nowhere near ready. I often wonder if it's not in the cards for me.

She didn't do a Draw My Life; I was making a comment about other YouTubers who do. She's made mention several times over the years of her really difficult childhood due to her mom suffering from mental illness. Her recent video where she goes into more detail is heartbreaking:

Thanks for posting! It definitely helps me see Christine in a very different light. It's refreshing to hear someone genuinely share their life story that isn't painted with a rosy glow. So much of what we see on YouTube, IG, and other social media is "My life is perfect and always has been." Not the case for many of us.

Does she have a specific video where she talks about not wanting kids?

I agree; it is a good life that Christine has made for herself, with her mom's history of abuse and Christine having dropped out of high school (I think) and leaving home on the mainland at 18 and going to Hawaii with just a couple of hundred dollars in her pocket. That's an accomplishment.

Maybe Christine doesn't want to have kids because of her upbringing. It doesn't sound like she had a good childhood, so she doesn't see childhood as anything to inflict upon an innocent being. She also seems to like her life and freedom just as they are now.
