I don't see any of them ever living on their own. None of them have good social skills. Asher doesn't even LIKE to go anywhere outside the house. Most of them are full of anxiety, they feel safe in their bubble away from the outside world. It's sad.

I agree. Whether Tom realizes it or not, he is going to have a really tough time with Asher unless he gives the kid some real life skills like driving, a job outside the home- hell, just leaving the house outside of Diehls and Walmart, etc. Yes, it's great for him right now since Daddy Asher takes care of the child rearing. We all saw what happened, though, when candidate April came in as a potential Mrs. Mills III. Asher felt depressed, bitter, angry, tossed aside, threatened, etc.
Tom's shoebox only fits so many. If these boys get a few years older and Mrs. Mills III has the home front under control, those older boys will be kicked out in a heartbeat. Poor Asher is getting to the danger point of agoraphobia in my opinion, though. Tom needs to help him- which he won't.

I wonder if Asher is still doing the landscaping and snow shoveling business that he was trying to build up? I cant see how he could be as he is full time babysitter and part time teacher for his siblings now that Thomas works full time. Sounds like Thomas sleeps in until its time for him to go to work. Tommo said that Thomas works noon to 8pm so I guess he sleeps until its time to work and then he's gone for the rest of the day, leaving Asher in charge. I guess the days that Kitty isn't there helping the kids with school, Asher is in charge of everything.
He is 17 years old now and he's been doing all this since before Andrea passed away when she was in bed for the last month of the time at home and could not do anything. He's been doing this since he was 15 years old. The only difference is that this year he is also helping with school since Andrea's sisters don't help with school anymore. His teenage years are gone.
Its heartbreaking for Asher. He's already got a problem with being away from home at all. Even when Andrea was alive and they took very very occasional mini-vacations or trips to those preterist conventions, Andrea always commented how relieved Asher was to go back home. Most of those trips were just for one or two nights away from the house. That's so sad. If he was like that when Andrea was alive, imagine how he is now?
I wish he was driving. Maybe it would help him to have a little more independence and to try to have some time to himself outside the house. But if he still has that fear and he's so tied to everything at home now with taking care of the house, the kids and homeschooling his siblings, there's very little likelihood that will happen. He's not gonna have anything to drive anyway even if he had his license.
Its so sad that with everything Asher does for everybody, Tommo still has him buy the bread for the family for the week. If Tommo had any conscience he would schedule a full day off for Asher every weekend where Tommo takes care of Asher and where Asher doesn't have to do a thing in the house or with the kids. How about that idea Tommo? You're the Dad after all that isn't that what Dad's do?. -

Watching the live. The special news is that they're not going to Diehls but picking up Pizza Hut? Oooh the excitement. And did Tom work at all today? A lot of the kids were at Bethanny's and Asher and Judah were putting up 3 loads of laundry. Did I miss something? Tom said it was lonely or boring at home or something. WTF was he doing all day while the houseboys were doing laundry? He's acting all jolly today like Santa Claus letting kids pick out a drink AND a candy bar. I was late to the live. I need to go watch watch it. I noticed a comment near the end...I think Tommo had shut off the camera at that point but the minions kept posting in the chat. It was from Aunt Jose. She said she was late or she forgot to text Tommo back last night but she was sorry to hear he was feeling down. I don't know if that was the real Aunt Jose or a troll account but hey, if its real, what's he feelin down about? He was like a jolly Santa on a high on there for the little part of the live I caught. Poor Solly asking to go get some Legos. How long is that? Since Christmas. Still hasn't gotten to go buy his own legos. .
