It’s not even so much that Jen has no friends, it’s that women her age or in her position (single mom or not, but with kids) are by and large busy working and/or don’t have the extra funds to flit off to Italy on a random trip just because.

And yet.....with the prices the SK charges, there are actually a lot of women in her area that she could potentially befriend who WOULD have the funds to take off to Italy for a few days or a week. And they're the same moms who are Jen's best shot at making a friend. But she's put no effort into doing so and will continue to be a friendless solo traveler as a result.

That’s the other half of her problem. Her personality prevents her from having any friends.

Like, all these women that say they are proud of her and she’s so strong and sweet and whatever; don’t they ever wonder why she literally has no friends?

I don’t know if this has been said already but I think part of the reason for the little breakdown she’s having is that she’s not with Don - maybe in the past when they went to Italy he would ask for the nice table or make sure they were treated well and she thought it would be fun without him but it isn’t.
