What an influx of excellent posts in the last few days. Have to admire the details that you ladies present.
Darlene’s still trying to convince herself about the vagaries of her weight loss “journey”. So she weighed herself and was surprised? Can’t she tell just from looking at her head? It’s enormous and extended. Hasn’t she seen the screen shots of herself at the sink posted here? But she’s going to work all that out with her doctor, so no need to bring it to her attention. Her journey to weight loss is unique to her. The laws of physics don’t apply to her.
Yes, CheapAssMustard CAM, there was always a contentious relationship between Darlene and Andrew’s SN staff. From the early days when she resented their coming to her home to work with him to later when she didn’t want to attend anything at his school, and as you say, the whole dropping him off when the bus wasn’t running saga.QUOTEBut still, wow. It takes a special kind of cluelessness or anger to have used that notepad with that tone.
Wasn’t that something? I think it’s a sort of cluelessness. Darlene just doesn’t have any natural grace. It’s so odd when Pat seems like a very gracious lady. It comes through even though she’s just been on the periphery of the videos. It’s as though Darlene couldn’t learn. -

Love the names on the paint chart. Darlene will go for “Impending Gloom” with accents of “Vitimin D Deficiency”. She can paint her laundry closet in “Apathy” too.
Darlene is a Canadian anomaly in that she’s so rude, when the Canadian reputation is one of being polite. Here’s a note she wrote to Andrew’s school years ago. No salutation, no “thank you”, just a demand on her obnoxious “Must Be Done” slip of paper. (I’d imagine the “Moose Be Done” is supposed to be a cute to do list note pad for oneself, not for sending out orders). The single “please” is the only concession to politeness.
And a whole dollar for the Bake Sale! (Is that standard?). It was supposed to be for Andrew to get a cupcake, but it seems such a small amount to spend at a bake sale.
Maybe I’m overthinking and this is an accepted form of communication in that situation? It just struck me as brusque. Something an “ogre hella yelling bisch” (LOL Socalgal ) would think is good enough. -

Awww, Pat looks great. What a cute New Year’s resolution too. Unfortunately, her extra large and useless daughter doesn’t do resolutions, not even simple ones.
Anyway, I think Darlene’s voice changes are to do with her weight. Obesity actually can cause changes like hoarseness and instability in the voice. There’s research on it.
Darlene should see a doctor, but I think she’d be afraid to. Seeing a doctor at this point for her general health would mean giving up her life as she likes it. Only something like a heart attack would get her anywhere near a doctor.
Glad you got over your attack of whatever you had so quickly, Kayla. Those teeth chattering chills sounded awful. -

Maybe it was the commentary about her shutting down Andrew learning sign language, or that someone’s husband said she looks like a man.

So weird, CAM. Yes, not just the gnomes, but all the others as you say. Though the gnomes are particularly hideous as decor imo.
For someone who looks at so much social media around decor, and with all the interesting stuff out there, how is she settling for this particular genre of home embellishment? I think Darlene is developmentally challenged.

And I have no words for all the gnomes at this point. Talk about repeating a theme in the worst possible way. People would probably have too many pillows, or pictures, or rugs or furniture- Darlene has too many gnomes.

I think Darlene started her channel just to bitch and moan. Can’t decide whether she was worse back then or now.
Wonder what Sarah did that wasn’t approved of. Ate all the Christmas crack? Didn’t get out of bed when Darlene wanted?
Who are these people? Why are they asking Darlene to do the impossible? They must be new to her channel. This one above sounds very bossy and demanding. Lady, only Darlene is allowed to be bossy and demanding - generally to her family. -

Socalgal I agree, Socal. At this point, after so many videos about it, her “depression” is content for her. She’s even expanded it to include pre-depression decorating. Who can take her seriously?
When Darlene was gushing over her calendar and said, “every month I turn the picture I think of my daughter and how she …”, I thought she was going to say something nice about Sarah, as in how she’s doing so well, had become so independent, is so grown up, or the like. But of course, no such high feelings from our Darlene. The follow on was “she you know goes and picks out a calendar”

Who are these people who have access to the internet but still need Darlene to give them hints on how to make soup and easy meals! Don’t they know there’s a world of recipes and people demonstrating recipes out there who do it a lot better than Darlene? They haven’t already seen her hamburger helper pasta Rao’s dish? Good lord!
Lol, Sophia, those questions would be great. But I think the what do you eat in a day one will annoys her too. How’s Darlene’s going to handle that one. And who’s asking that? Someone who wants to gain weight? Because it’s not as though Darlene showed a weight loss last year causing people to want to know how she did it. Must be someone desperate to add on the pounds.
I agree that’s she’s just asking to keep her viewers engaged. The old “comment down below” or “let me know in the comments below what you think, do, suggest, etc.” engagement tactic. Can’t roll my eyes enough. The last thing Darlene wants is to have to do or cook anything outside her comfort zone. And yes, mg, she really does embrace the blues! -

So true Two! Her incessant whining year after year is so old and incredibly tone deaf and really stupid. There are people who have real problems Dardummy. Grow up! How is she not embarrassed!
Yes, Socal, I find it very infantile to keep complaining as she does. Having made mention of it once, that should be that. But I guess it’s part of her seasonal content. What would December be without first the reference to the coming blues, now expanded to the decorating for the coming blues, with blue. I notice she’s started referencing conditions such as the lack of sunshine (I think she said vitamin D, if I’m remembering correctly) as causing her to have her seasonal bouts. Well, that may be true, but in Darlene’s case there are so many variables, just from her weight to her personality, to her predilection for copying, to needing YouTube content, for anyone to discern what is actually depression, weight related issues, or just bad temper.
That’s how I see it. Not saying she doesn’t have some issues, but who knows what or why. I’m not taking Darlene’s word for it. She may have just read up about SAD and decided to incorporate it into her narrative for sympathy, or just for something to say.

No worries, Hannah. I’m sure everyone noticed those pillows weren’t washed.
I’m always amazed how you, and everyone, get all the nitty-gritty details about Darlene written down in a comprehensive way and posted within a short time after her video. Not to mention Kayla and her detailed recaps. I just don’t have the energy! I’m just going for the low hanging Darlene tomfoolery fruit now. Screenshots and jibes, lol.
