WIC is for children under 5.
I know kids adopted from foster care get a subsidy, ssi if they qualify, and Medicaid. Some states offer free college tuition too as you said. That's why some foster and adoptive parents do it for the benefits |

I wish I had money to waste away like she does. Nevaeh was very un happy there. Always was. She didn't want to be a part of the Dougherty Dozen brand on social media. She still has visitation with Dayshawn but from what Shawna posted a couple of months ago he refuses to see her.
I hate liars. Rights and custody are two different things. Legally speaking, Alicia isn't his parent his mom still legally is. Now the courts can order child support if they want to but Alicia is a damn liar. That's why his mom gets visits because she has Rights.
Sounds like he loves the attention and money. I can't blame the kid. It's hust sad to see siblings separated.

Neglect is neglect doesn't matter if Melissa or Andres are addicted to drugs or not. It messes up Emily.Especially by not feeling wanted by the Mendoza household or being used as the third parent. There are plenty of non addict parents who mess kids up and traumatize them. Just because they're not addicts doesn't make them amazing or "better" or good.
Don't get me started on hair care or race because Melissa and that entire family are trash. Her mom included. Treating your best friends kid like this while you watch. Disgusting.
Providing a bed and food isn't the only thing that one should do nor is it impressive. Heck even the food is junk.
I'd say Melissa is a shit caregiver to all her kids but for Emily it angers me how she's treated because of her background. Removing a kid for neglect just for them to be neglected again. Which is common in foster care but doesn't make it right. The checks she's getting must be good |

| I'm happy Emily got braids but again you have to take care of them. They've had Emily for 13 years at this point and Melissa can no longer make excuses. Especially with Andres. Pretty sure he has a good relationship with Mady at 10 than he did with Emily at 10.
Also, the teen years are rough. Melissa has no idea how to handle a Black child with Emily's background |
