Hello all, hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas (if you celebrate it) or otherwise wonderful holiday season!
I spent my early Christmas Day in the ER & hospital. Long story short, I’m mostly fine. I have pancreatitis as well as a couple of other issues and need more tests. Lovely end to 2021.
RainbowsandSunshine, I like your idea about commemorating G-Sleazy’s arrival to her 40s.

So…something interesting on Junior’s TikTok. She says she totaled her car in February of 2021. Does anyone remember hearing Joda say anything about this? I don’t recall her ever mentioning it. Wouldn’t this require purchasing another vehicle for Miss Priss?

| I have been extremely busy caring for my ill mother and therefore have not been around much. Thank you to Athletic Calves, Elderberry and any others who sent kind thoughts and wishes. She’s hanging in there.
Heather Riley, in the spirit of the season I’m going to chalk up your defending Giada and being ugly to Grammylikescake! to the stress, grief, and loss you have experienced in the past couple of years.
Number one, you have frequently championed both Giada and Junior on this site (which I might remind you is a gossip site). You are free to have your opinions but vitriol & attacking the views of other Bakers is against the TOS here.
You act (and have acted in the past) as though you have a personal interest in defending Giada since you first originally arrived here as KarmaKat. The level of anger you are displaying toward Grammy is over the top & uncalled for. If you have a problem with what other people post here either take it up with the person themselves through DM or take it to a mod. Otherwise you may want to take a break from reading or posting if it is causing you to have such a visceral reaction…not a demand, just a suggestion. |

Years ago, when Martha Stewart partnered with K-Mart/Sears, yes, K-Mart, she had the nicest Christmas collections. I still have some beautiful ornaments and decorations. I never really liked her Christmas stuff once she moved to Macy's.
I remember that jsym, and I still have some of the things I bought then too. I have always been super into vintage (or reproduction vintage) holiday decor and many of those pre-Macy's Martha Stewart ornaments & decor were styled after real vintage ornaments. Some even had heavy metal tops & resembled old German kugels.
In a little defense of the mushroom as Christmas decor, in Germany and Eastern Europe the mushroom has been used since at least the late 1800s, first as cotton batting ornaments and then blown glass ornaments. My mother has several really old ones of both types since she started collecting vintage & antique German ornaments back in the late 50s after she & my father got engaged.
Of course Jen probably bought her Martha Stewart items because she felt that there was some cachet in having things with the MS name attached. |

| I have lost multiple friends & family members to Covid, my husband lost his best friend in August of 2020 & most recently lost an aunt & uncle (husband & wife) who died within 48 hours of each other. Their son is still in a rehab facility because of the effects of Covid on his lungs & kidneys. His brother currently has it & is not doing well. My husband had almost convinced him to get vaccinated but my mother-in-law talked him out of it. My husband is livid right now because of it.
I know people with long Covid who are still suffering the after effects. My own daughter had a breakthrough case while in Africa this summer & still has issues with taste & smell. It is still slowly returning. Who knows how bad it might have been if she hadn't been vaccinated?

I have suspected this also. Back when she used to show paying bills in her planners in her early days of YouTube she would show how much she was paying on her credit cards and it seemed like she was only paying the minimums due.
There’s been credit card fraud and shoplifting among other things in her family’s sordid past. I believe the Baker named Joelle CheapCraftyBoy uncovered some of that years ago.
Not that we should be judged by our family’s misdeeds but Giada has plenty of her own misdeeds and you can be sure that there’s plenty of things she’s done & may still be doing that are not on the up & up. |

My mom (who is 82) got her test results back yesterday and unfortunately is going to have to have surgery again. She had surgery in October 2019 for a bowel obstruction and she somehow has developed a large hernia that’s pressing on her kidneys. She has always been extremely healthy but in the last few years has had some deterioration of health. This upcoming surgery will be her third since 2016. Anyway, if anyone wants to send her prayers or good vibes it’s definitely greatly appreciated! |
