Been watching Gene for like 7ish years? but have lived in Italy for the past 3 years w/ my Italian bf. It was finally time to introduce him to Gene and the bakery. The shrimp at the restaurant was so so pathetic. I was super curious about the Room with(out) a View restaurant so I found the site- with a clearly marked reservation button, so no Italian speaking even required www.seceda.com/en/restaurant-sofie-hut.asp Reservations- even more so during covid times- are generally needed in most restaurants, and especially in popular or nicer spots.
This whole dolomites series is so sad because Italy truly is a remarkable country and I find Italians in general to be extremely forgiving of any language mistakes. same (self-wallowing) trailer, different park for jen.
Okay chiming in and breaking my usual silence- from the depressed 5 minute cry for attention video to the shitquotes, it's so obvious that Jen is reacting like a teenager going through her first break up, but like, more psychotic.
I started watching back when I was 16- a teenager myself (7 years ago!) and it's so bizarre to see her using these teenage tricks. Like the vegan rebellion against 'Daddy' Don (lol sorry), fluctuating from projecting extreme confidence to feeling sorry for herself, the obsession with her body...except she's in her 30s with two kids and doing it online as a 'job.' Like, very high school stuff.
It's so strange because when I first started watching I watched because it was aspirational- all the stationary stuff, vaguely luxury yet tasteless items, vacations- the kind of things that you wish you could buy when you're a teen. I thankfully haven't been too malformed by spending my formative years watching Jen and reading on the Bakery (lol you guys crack me up and are always a cheer up when my life gets stressful) but it's kinda of sad to see a human making literally negative developmental progress.
